The Tech Compliance team is seeking an experienced Backend Engineer to design and develop scalable, reliable solutions for compliance challenges. The role involves the full software development lifecycle, from requirement gathering to deployment, with a focus on microservices architecture, Spring Cloud, and Kafka. Responsibilities include architecting and developing backend systems, writing clean and maintainable code, optimizing performance, and ensuring high availability and reliability. The engineer will also contribute to solution design, produce documentation, and participate in on-call rotations, adhering to internal processes and security protocols.
Must have:
- 6+ years of professional experience
- Spring Cloud, MySQL, Redis, Kafka, Prometheus, Kibana
- Microservices architecture and distributed system design
- Diagnosing and resolving production issues
- Decomposing monolithic applications
- Writing clean, testable, scalable, and maintainable code
Good to have:

About the team

We are seeking an experienced Backend Engineer to design and develop scalable, reliable solutions addressing compliance challenges. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in microservices architecture, hands-on experience with technologies like Spring Cloud and Kafka, and a commitment to high-quality, maintainable code. Experience with compliance systems and familiarity with the cryptocurrency industry are a plus.
Responsibilities
- Full life cycle of software development, including requirement gathering, designing, coding, testing and deployment
- Collaborate in Product Requirement Document (PRD) reviews and actively contribute to solution design discussions
- Architect and develop scalable, robust backend solutions to effectively address compliance challenges
- Write clean, testable, scalable, and maintainable code
- Build, maintain, and optimize backend systems that support compliance operations with high availability and reliability
- Produce and maintain clear, comprehensive internal documentation and knowledge base articles to facilitate team collaboration
- Respond promptly to technical inquiries and participate in on-call rotations to ensure system stability
- Adhere rigorously to internal processes, coding standards, and security protocols to uphold compliance and quality standards
Requirements
- Bachelor's/Master's degree in computer science, engineering or equivalent industry experience
- 6+ years of professional experience in a related field
- Proven track of record for great learning skills, love to solve challenging problems
- Hands-on experience with core technologies including Spring Cloud, MySQL, Redis, Kafka, Prometheus, and Kibana
- Commitment to writing clean, testable, scalable, and maintainable code
- Deep expertise in microservices architecture and distributed system design patterns
- Proficient in diagnosing, analyzing, and resolving production issues efficiently and effectively
- Experience in decomposing monolithic applications into microservices and refactoring complex legacy codebases
- Prior involvement in compliance-related systems or projects is a plus
