GoDaddy's Commerce unit is rapidly growing, aiming to empower SMB entrepreneurs to sell anywhere. This Senior Product Manager role within the Payments and Payouts team focuses on POS hardware offerings. You will own the end-to-end strategy and roadmap for best-in-class POS terminal devices and peripherals, enabling SMB merchants to seamlessly accept in-store payments and manage operations. This involves defining vision, writing detailed user stories, managing vendor relationships, and driving innovation in POS/payment hardware.
Good To Have:
  • Experience in payments, with a focus on EMV and card-present systems.
  • Working knowledge of POS hardware, different integration architectures (semi-integrated vs integrated), L3 certification processes, payment testing cycles, TMS, key injection, parameter file management.
  • Familiarity with payment security frameworks including PCI-DSS, P2PE, and EMVco.
Must Have:
  • Define the long-term vision and roadmap for POS hardware products.
  • Create a roadmap driven by the needs of SMB customers.
  • Write detailed user stories, including non-functional requirements.
  • Collaborate with UI/UX designers on user flows and physical touchpoints.
  • Own relationships with third-party hardware vendors for POS systems and peripherals.
  • Stay updated on industry advancements in POS/payment hardware and bring innovation to product strategy.
  • 3+ years of experience in building products in the hardware space.
  • Comfort working with engineering teams, hardware partners, and vendors to discuss technical feasibility.
  • Proficiency in pulling and analyzing data to drive decisions and monitor product performance.
  • Demonstrated experience in an Agile software development environment, including managing backlogs and delivering features in sprints.

Location Details: Remote - United States

At GoDaddy the future of work looks different for each team. Some teams work in the office full-time; others have a hybrid arrangement (they work remotely some days and in the office some days) and some work entirely remotely.

This is a remote position, so you’ll be working remotely from your home. You may occasionally visit a GoDaddy office to meet with your team for events or meetings.

This position is not eligible to be performed in Alaska, Mississippi, North Dakota, or the Virgin Islands.

This role is in the Payments and Payouts product team that forms the core of the Commerce product. Our mission is to build a best-in-class payments platform so that we can enable SMBs to seamlessly accept payments from their customers everywhere (in-store, online, through social media) and get access to their funds reliably and accurately.

As the Senior Product Manager on this team, you will take end-to-end ownership of our hardware offerings for SMB merchants so that they are able seamlessly accept payments at the POS and manage other in-store operations using best in class POS terminal devices and peripherals.

What you'll get to do...

  • Product strategy and roadmap: Define the long-term vision and roadmap for our POS hardware products to support GoDaddy's Commerce strategy and roadmap. Create a roadmap that is driven by the needs of our SMB customers by performing interviews and identifying the key jobs to be done.
  • Requirements and user stories: Write detailed user-stories including non-functional requirements focused on hardware usability, accessibility, and performance. Collaborate with UI/UX designers on user flows, physical touchpoints (e.g., register displays, receipt printers, cash drawers).
  • Vendor management: Own relationships with third-party hardware vendors for POS systems and peripherals.
  • Industry knowledge and innovation: Stay updated on industry advancements in POS/payment hardware and bring innovation to product strategy.

Your experience should include...

  • 3+ years of experience in building products in the hardware space.
  • Technical aptitude: Comfort working with engineering teams, hardware partners and vendors to discuss technical feasibility and build scalable, resilient, and stable POS hardware products.
  • Data analytics: Proficiency in pulling and analyzing data to drive decisions and monitor product performance.
  • Agile experience: Demonstrated experience in an Agile software development environment, including managing backlogs and delivering features in sprints.

You might also have...

  • Experience in payments, with a focus on EMV and card-present systems.
  • Working knowledge of POS hardware, different integration architectures (semi-integrated vs integrated), L3 certification processes, payment testing cycles and other nuances like TMS, key injection, parameter file management etc.
  • Familiarity with payment security frameworks including PCI-DSS, P2PE, and EMVco.

  • Group 3: $124,400.00 – $186,600.00
  • Group 4: $135,500.00 – $203,500.00
