Job Summary

Job Description

The Sr Material Handler performs all shipping, material movement, and receiving duties, confirming inventory levels. This role directly impacts internal and external customers, as well as Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Quality goals. Responsibilities include pulling and packing orders, processing incoming products, stocking, conducting inventory counts, and maintaining warehouse areas according to 5S principles and safety policies.
Must have:
  • Pull and pack product orders, checking lot numbers, package weights, and preparing carrier documentation.
  • Receive and process product from manufacturing or suppliers, ensuring proper identification and labeling.
  • Stock approved product to maintain 5S, inventory accuracy, and safety.
  • Count physical inventory of all raw materials and finished goods.
  • Process all required paperwork for material transactions.
  • Maintain warehouse and work areas following 5S principles.
  • Follow all departmental and company safety policies.
  • Work with Associate Team Leaders and Team Leaders to ensure compliance with cGMP, ISO, and FDA guidelines.
  • High school diploma or GED with 2+ years of experience in shipping/receiving and/or data entry.
  • Proficiency in computer use for data entry and retrieval.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work and communicate effectively with others.
Good to have:
  • Experience with safe and efficient use of material handling equipment such as a floor jack, hand truck, order picker, and forklift.
  • Truck driving experience.

Position Summary & Responsibilities:

Starting pay for this role is $17.50/hr. Normal working hours for this role are anticipated to be Monday - Friday from 6:00am - 2:30pm.

The Sr Material Handler performs all shipping, material movement and receiving duties and confirms inventory levels. This job directly affects both internal and external customers. It also affects Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Quality goals of the division. Routine internal contacts may include, but not limited to Sales Administration, Maintenance, Engineering, Quality, Material handling and Planning.

  • Pulls and packs product orders to ensure accuracy and efficiencies. Checks lot numbers; package weights and prepares carrier documentation.
  • Receives and processes product from manufacturing or suppliers. Ensures parts are properly identified and labeled.
  • Stocks product after approval for use in a manner to maintain 5S, inventory accuracy and safety.
  • Counts physical inventory of all raw materials and finished goods in the warehouses and coolers.
  • Processes all required paperwork to ensure the material transactions occur for all departmental activities.
  • Maintains warehouse and work areas following 5S principles; participates 5S audits as needed.
  • Follows all departmental and company safety policies including maintaining warehouse and work areas following 5S principles.
  • Work with the department Associate Team Leaders and Team Leaders to ensure compliance with all cGMP, ISO and FDA guidelines for warehouse activities.
  • May need to drive a truck for material transport of product from one location to another.
  • Provides training to others within the department.
  • Identifies areas that need improvement within the department to assist in maximizing accuracy, minimizing errors and increasing inventory accuracy of all parts processed.

Education, Skills, & Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED with 2+ years of experience in a shipping and/or receiving environment and/or data entry experience.
  • Must be proficient in the use of computers to enter and retrieve data.
  • Must possess clear written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must possess attention to detail and organizational skills, and have the ability to work and communicate effectively with others.
  • Experience with the safe and efficient use material handling equipment such as a floor jack, hand truck, order picker, and forklift is preferred.
  • Truck driving experience is preferred.
