Position Summary
Ensure timely and accurate movement of materials to support production and shipping operations while maintaining compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
Key Outcomes/Responsibilities
Outcome: Deliver Accurate and Timely Shipments
Actions:
- Achieve 94%+ order fulfillment accuracy by consistently picking, packing, and preparing shipments per specifications
- Ensure all shipments are correctly labeled and comply with DOT, OSHA, and hazardous material regulations
- Verify delivery data (e.g., ship-to address, batch numbers, weight/volume) against shipping documentation
- Meet 100% of shipping deadlines to maintain customer satisfaction
- Complete PGI transactions in SAP upon confirming physical shipment
Outcome: Ensure Compliance & Workplace Safety
Actions:
- Maintain zero preventable safety incidents by strictly adhering to hazardous material handling procedures and PPE usage.
- Support 6S goals by reviewing weekly audits, implementing corrective actions, and maintaining routine housekeeping
- Inspect shipments to ensure full compliance with regulatory requirements, including documentation and labeling
- Report and address safety concerns or regulatory violations immediately
- Manage chemical spills by following SDS guidelines and company protocols
- Complete assigned computer-based safety training on time
- Operate yard equipment in full compliance with OSHA, DOT, and site-specific safety regulations
- Perform pre-trip inspections of MHE, yard tractors, and trailers to identify and report mechanical or safety issues
- Clean and prepare equipment for LO/TO in alignment with the BPSMS
- LO/TO equipment for maintenance repair in accordance with critical standards
- Provide support for rail movements of HHC to ensure that bulk tanks are filled safely and on time
- Follow all FRA and Buckman guidelines for rail car movement
- Follow Buckman internal paperwork and procedures for rail car movement on acceptance and release back to UP
- Essure compliance is adhered to in regard to all Cadets HHC handling, loading and unloading
Outcome: Maintain Warehouse Inventory Accuracy
Actions:
- Achieve 98%+ inventory accuracy by accurately scanning materials with RF devices for put-away, picking, transfers, cycle counts, and shipping/receiving transactions in SAP
- Support inventory control by conducting cycle counts and participating in annual physical audits
- Organize warehouse space to enhance operational efficiency and minimize waste
Outcome: Maximize Equipment Efficiency and Maintenance
Actions:
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment safely to meet performance standards
- Conduct routine equipment checks and promptly report malfunctions to reduce downtime
- Follow maintenance schedules to extend equipment lifespan and ensure continuous operations
Outcome: Foster Collaboration and Drive Process Improvements
Actions:
- Coordinate with warehouse associates, customer service, quality control, inventory planning, and logistics teams to optimize shipping processes
- Drive process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and reduce errors
Outcome: Safe and Efficient Trailer Movement
Actions:
- Move trailers between dock doors, tank loading stations, and designated yard spots based on production and shipping schedules
- Stay alert to pedestrian and vehicle traffic to prevent incidents
Outcome: Clerical Support Functions
Actions:
- Create delivery documents in SAP based on approved customer sales or internal transfer orders
- Verify COA data matches the product batch and Buckman specifications, entering data into SAP
- File and archive COAs following internal quality and documentation control procedures
- Prepare and assemble shipping documents, including BOLs, customer/carrier paperwork, pick tickets, dangerous goods declarations, and CCIs
- Flag and resolve discrepancies in SAP data, labels, COAs, or shipping paperwork
- Print and issue labels for production packaging, warehousing, and shipping workflows
- Execute stock status changes in SAP (e.g., unrestricted → quality inspection, blocked stock) based on internal quality decisions or nonconformances
- Manage operational emails related to orders, shipments, documentation, and customer requirements
Basic Qualifications
- Education Requirements: High School Diploma or equivalent
- Job Experience: 2-3 years
- Proficiency in shipping and receiving procedures, including hazardous material handling
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to safety, quality, and compliance
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented production environment.
- Forklift certification or ability to operate equipment
- Basic computer skills for inventory management, shipping documentation, and communication
