Job Description

The Systems Engineering & Verification Engineer at Rolls-Royce is responsible for overseeing products to meet business, customer, and regulatory requirements. This role focuses on delivering verification and certification for New Product Introduction (NPI) and modification packages in Large Civil Engines. Key activities include ensuring requirements are validated and verifiable, developing product verification strategies, defining certification plans, managing substantiation evidence, and coaching teams on Systems Engineering, Validation, and Verification activities.
Must Have:
  • Work with Systems Engineers and Designers to ensure that requirements are validated and verifiable
  • Develop product verification strategy, structured verification plan and Product Development Plan
  • Define and deliver robust certification and qualification strategies (for organisations which are design authority)
  • Manage the creation of substantiation evidence, clearance/acceptance documentation that meets the demand for the project
  • Be the point of contact with the project to support and coach the team regarding Systems Engineering, Validation and Verification activities, driving the right V&V behaviours within the project
  • Highly numerate with strong technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Qualified to degree level in a STEM subject
  • Experience in a relevant engineering environment (Mechanical, Aeronautical, Electrical or Controls)
  • Capable of systems level thinking, with knowledge of Systems Engineering tools, techniques, and processes
  • Highly driven with excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Able to contribute effectively in a team environment, collaborating across different engineering disciplines
  • Experience of working in a product development programme
  • Experience working in aerospace or highly regulated industry sector with a broad understanding of Gas Turbine physical and functional characteristics
  • Familiarity with Systems Engineering principles and tools, structured verification and ARP4754

Systems Engineering Validation & Verification (SEV&V) is a new organization formed in the Transformation of 2024 bringing together disciplines of Systems Engineering and Verification that were previously in separate Functions. The Systems Engineering and Verification Engineer is responsible for ensuring that Rolls-Royce has sufficient oversight for our products to meet business, customer and regulatory requirements. It covers engineers who are performing Systems Engineering and Verification/Certification roles to successfully develop robust, verified engineering solutions against robust validated customer requirements.

The emphasis and focus of the Systems Engineering & Verification Engineer role, will be on delivering the verification and certification deliverables for NPI and modification packages in Large Civil Engines.

What you will be doing:

  • Work with Systems Engineers and Designers to ensure that requirements are validated and verifiable.

Position qualifications and requirements:
