IO Interactive is currently looking for a Technical Animator to join Project 007, a brand-new James Bond video game to be developed and published by IOI. Featuring a wholly original Bond story, players will step into the shoes of the world's favourite Secret Agent to earn their 00 status in the very first James Bond origin story.
This is a permanent position based in one of our studios, with the option to work from home up to two days per week.
What you will do:
Collaborate with the team to develop and implement character rigs, focusing on weight skinning, RBF deformation, and animation.
Set up animatable rigged objects such as weapons and vehicles, including skeletons, weight skinning, and control rig development.
Utilize our Glacier engine to create cloth and rigid body physics for realistic character movement.
Work closely with the central DCC team to develop and maintain tools and pipelines, troubleshoot issues, and provide documentation.
Coordinate with gameplay and cinematic animation teams to ensure smooth and fluid animation implementation.
Identify and resolve technical animation issues, ensuring a seamless experience for both developers and players.
Optimize animation workflows to improve efficiency and quality while ensuring high performance across various platforms.
Contribute to the development and enhancement of proprietary tools and technologies that support animation workflows.
Provide technical support and troubleshooting for animation-related tools and systems.
Who you are:
An experienced technical animator with a strong background in game development and real-time animation.
Proficient in animation software and tools such as Maya, 3ds Max, MotionBuilder, and game engines.
Experienced in Python development for animation and rigging tools, as well as automation.
Experienced in troubleshooting and resolving animation-related technical issues.
Adept at collaborating with cross-disciplinary teams, including animators, riggers, and programmers.
Proactive and detail-oriented, with a passion for optimizing animation processes and enhancing overall quality.
