Job Description

As a UX Research Manager, you will be responsible for helping to define and drive the future of Google design. You will identify and set product strategy, envision complex UX ecosystems and inspire teams to push the boundaries of what’s possible. You will possess a clear outlook of the future of user experience and pursue forward-thinking design. The Health Experiences team is building products and services that empower our consumers to live a longer, healthier life. We do this by surfacing the best of Google’s technologies and services into consumer experiences that are simple, fast, smart, and personal, helping consumers realize their health goals. The Health App Foundations team is responsible for the overall end-user experience of the Fitbit app, including defining the core app experience, information architecture, common frameworks, ecosystem integration, and subscription experience. This role involves influencing stakeholders across organizations to gain support for research-based, user-centric solutions, owning project priorities, and driving ideas to improve products and services through research-driven insights and recommendations. You will also lead teams to define and evaluate product, service, ecosystem impact and own outlook and strategy discussions through research by analyzing, consolidating, or synthesizing user, product, service, or business needs.
Good To Have:
  • Master's degree or PhD in HCI, Cognitive Science, Statistics, Psychology, Anthropology, or related field
Must Have:
  • Bachelor's degree in HCI, Cognitive Science, Statistics, Psychology, Anthropology, or related field
  • 8 years of experience in an applied research setting
  • 3 years of experience leading design projects and managing people or teams
  • Experience conducting UX research on products
  • Experience working with executive leadership
  • Experience managing projects in a large, matrixed organization

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Cognitive Science, Statistics, Psychology, Anthropology, related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience in an applied research setting, or similar.
  • 3 years of experience leading design projects and managing people or teams.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree or PhD in Human-Computer Interaction, Cognitive Science, Statistics, Psychology, Anthropology, or related field.
  • 8 years of experience conducting UX research on products.
  • 7 years of experience working with executive leadership (e.g., Director level and above).
  • 5 years of experience managing projects, and working in a large, matrixed organization.
