This role involves planning and developing vehicle collision safety performance (front, side, rear, damageability, pedestrian protection) to achieve Nissan's Vision Zero goal of virtually eliminating traffic accident fatalities and serious injuries. You will be responsible for assigning performance targets to various components like vehicle bodies and restraint systems, promoting vehicle development through analysis and testing, and confirming technologies with real-vehicle tests. The role also includes developing technologies for current and future regulations, contributing to continuous improvement and innovation in safety.
Must have:
  • Experience in safety performance parts or vehicle development in the automotive industry (including suppliers)
  • Experience in product development related to safety performance (either of the above)
  • Ability to understand and utilize structural mechanics and material mechanics
  • English communication skills (reading/writing English emails, overseas meetings, overseas business trips)
  • TOEIC score of 600

① Development area, business overview, and role/position within R&D of the affiliated organization

Towards achieving Vision Zero, which aims to virtually eliminate fatalities and serious injuries from traffic accidents, you will be responsible for planning and developing vehicle collision safety performance, including front, side, rear, and pedestrian protection. This involves assigning performance targets to various components such as vehicle bodies and restraint systems like airbags.

② Specific job duties and expected role/position within and outside your department

Planning and development of collision safety performance (front collision, side collision, rear collision, damageability, pedestrian protection, etc.)

① Project Development

  • Investigate strength values for each component, such as vehicle body and restraint systems, to achieve target safety performance.
  • Promote vehicle development by evaluating component performance through analysis and testing, in collaboration with related parts design.
  • Predict the public release of integrated technologies through analysis and confirm with actual vehicle tests.
  • Review development and provide feedback for next-generation vehicle development.

② Safety Technology Development

  • Evolve and deepen technologies that respond to current regulations (improve development efficiency).
  • Develop technologies that respond to future regulations.

Compensation

  • Annual income range: Monthly salary (reference value)

230,000 JPY to 439,000 JPY

*Determined comprehensively based on experience and expertise.

*Monthly salary x 12 months + bonus (estimated value)

*Bonus amount is a reference value; actual payment timing, amount, and conditions will be determined separately.
