This role involves planning and promoting Value Engineering (VE) activities at the highest level of R&D to enhance the cost competitiveness and customer value of Nissan vehicles. The scope covers both new models in the planning and development stages and current production models, dealing with all automotive parts from upstream to downstream manufacturing. The position requires comprehensive automotive engineering knowledge and the ability to lead cross-functional teams. The team consists of 8 members aged 40-60 with diverse backgrounds in design, production, and purchasing.
Must have:
  • Work experience in manufacturing-related companies.
  • Business planning and execution skills (e.g., project management).
  • Basic Excel skills.
  • TOEIC score of 600 or higher.
Good to have:
  • Work experience in automotive-related companies.
  • Basic knowledge of manufacturing costs.
  • Data processing skills using Excel, Access, SQL, etc.
  • TOEIC score of 600 or higher.

Job Description

1. Department's assigned development area, business overview, and role/position within R&D

This organization is engaged in activities and concepts aimed at reducing costs and/or improving functions and performance while maintaining costs to enhance the competitiveness of Nissan vehicles. The following duties are performed:

  • At the highest level of R&D development departments
  • By planning and promoting overall VE activities
  • Continuously improving the cost competitiveness and customer value of vehicles

This includes new vehicles in the planning and development stages, as well as current production vehicles, covering all automotive parts from upstream to downstream manufacturing. This role involves acquiring and utilizing comprehensive knowledge as an automotive engineer, leading and engaging a wide range of departments.

2. Specific job duties and expected role/position within and outside the department

  • Planning and promotion of VE activities across the entire R&D department.
  • Formulation and management of the VE activity budget.

These tasks are performed as a team leader, coordinating team members under the deputy manager.

The team consists of 8 members aged 40-60, with diverse backgrounds in design, production, purchasing, etc., both within and outside the company. We welcome individuals who can think and act independently to promote VE across R&D, working with these diverse team members.

Compensation

  • Annual income range (reference value): Approximately 4.1 million JPY to 7.8 million JPY.
  • Monthly salary (reference value): 230,000 JPY to 439,000 JPY.
  • Determined comprehensively based on experience and expertise.
  • Monthly salary x 12 months + bonus (estimated value).
  • Bonus amount is a reference value; actual payment timing, amount, and conditions are determined separately.
  • Overtime allowance, etc., will be paid separately based on employee wage regulations.
