About the role
We are seeking a skilled Animator to bring character and typographic elements to life for a family-oriented live experience. This role focuses on delivering animation in an enhanced cutout style with selective 2.5D depth, balancing character charm with production efficiency.
The work emphasizes clarity, readability, and energy — ensuring that instructions remain engaging for a live family audience. With a streamlined approval path and integration-ready deliverables, the Animator will play a critical role in keeping the project on schedule and aligned with brand guidelines.
What you'll do
- Animate characters, typography, and graphics in an enhanced cutout style with selective 2.5D depth.
- Ensure animations maintain clarity and readability for live, large-scale audiences.
- Deliver integration-ready MP4 files in 1080p or 4K, with masked variants as required.
- Apply brand fonts (provided by the client or approved substitutes) consistently across animated assets.
- Work with reference audio during production and re-embed final audio tracks at handoff.
- Collaborate with project supervisors, producers, and designers to align animation style and pacing with project vision.
- Manage workload efficiently to meet delivery timelines under a Time and Materials budget.
- Flexibility to support onsite needs if the contract is extended beyond 4 months.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as an Animator in motion graphics, 2D/2.5D animation, or related production.
- Strong portfolio demonstrating character-driven animation and readable, energetic typography.
- Proficiency in Adobe After Effects, Photoshop, Maya and related animation tools.
- Understanding of timing, rhythm, and visual flow in animation for live or family audiences.
- Ability to produce integration-ready, broadcast/live-event assets.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to maintain schedules under tight timelines.
Must have
- A portfolio of previous work
- Exceptional file management and project management organization to simplify handoffs and source submissions.
- Licenses and equipment to deliver the expected output eg. Licenses to perform the work, and a computer cable of doing the work required.
Nice-to-Have
- Experience with enhanced cutout or paper-style animation workflows.
- Familiarity with live production pipelines and preparing deliverables for integration.
- Prior collaboration on entertainment, theme park, or family-oriented productions.
