Job Summary

Framestore, a multi-Oscar-winning Film & Episodic studio, seeks a 3D Modeller to create highly accurate and efficient CG models for high-end visual effects films. The role involves collaborating with directors and producers, using references like photographs, scan data, blueprints, and concept designs. Modellers work closely with Texture Artists to produce models and UVs that meet VFX pipeline requirements, contributing to innovative creative solutions and setting new standards in visual effects.

Must Have

  • Create CG models based on briefs and reference materials.

Job Description

The multi-Oscar-winning creative Film & Episodic studio, at Framestore has worked with some of the greatest storytellers in film today. Modellers are responsible for the production of highly accurate and efficient CG models for use in high-end visual effects films. Modellers will work from references which may include photographs, scan data, blueprints and/or concept designs. Modellers work closely with Texture Artists in order to produce models and UVs that meet the specific requirements of a VFX pipeline.

What you’ll do:

  • Create models as briefed and/or in line with reference materials
  • Follow asset build conventions
  • Present work for progress review to Leads and Supervisors
  • Communicate with other departments in order to ensure that the model meets expectations
  • Have ongoing communication with Production and Leads regarding schedules and deadlines
  • Stay on schedule and meet deadlines while maintaining the highest levels of quality

What we’re looking for:

  • Experience working on asset builds for VFX needs
  • A good working knowledge of Maya and sculpting softwares
  • Creative, resourceful and with strong spatial awareness
  • Very strong polygonal subdivision modelling skills
  • Efficient with layout of UVs and awareness of texture requirements
  • Able to interpret and follow reference material to create clean, highly detailed and accurate models
  • Able to organise own workflow in a meticulous manner
  • Able to work well within a team
