Job Description

The Account Manager will manage high-revenue, high-growth SMB merchants, ensuring their growth on the GoFood platform and increasing adoption of in-app features. Responsibilities include providing feedback, conducting business reviews, identifying and solving merchant problems, onboarding new merchants, supporting city-focused projects, and ensuring timely administration of processes. The role involves observing competitor movements, canvassing for new merchants, and collaborating with merchant engagement and sales support teams. The Account Manager needs to visit assigned merchants to provide advice for increasing transactions.

About the Role

Account Manager (AM) will manage a smaller number of higher-revenue higher-growth SMB merchants. Main responsibility is to ensure that the merchants grow their business in GoFood platform and increase adoption of in app features as business needs. They should understand what the merchants need and provide advice upon it.

What Will You Do

    • Actively relate to Leads provided through Motion Standard and Virtual Engagement.
    • Routinely provide feedback to merchants by making Report modules always  conducting Business Reviews. and actively penetrate promos and ads from leads that are their responsibility.
    • Determine the problems faced by merchants and help solve them, including identify and grow merchants in the respected portfolio as the future growth driver, those related to troubleshooting, document changes or adding new outlets, entities or brands.
    • Actively observe competitor movements and market movements.
    • Actively penetrate their areas by onboarding new merchants and always observing the area through canvassing days.
    • Actively support the city's focus projects (Merchant Partnership, Assortment, etc).
    • Ensure the submission and administration process (advertisements, promotions, changes to agreements, additional outlets) are on time, including complaints from merchants and also always submit to ASM and seek assistance from the right PIC.
    • Routinely attend training, socialize new products and develop skills.

What Will You Need
  • At least 3 years relevant experience with preferable industries: top 5 FMCG/Telecommunication/Bank/Tech company and preferably has spent significant time (>1 year) in representative area and has strong network and knowledge about the region.
  • Has business sense and have good understanding of the markets, customers, and competitors.
  • Has existing relationship or able to bridge, develop, and maintain good relationship with key partner.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Fact-based/number-oriented individual and able to interpret data to make practical data-driven decisions.
  • Comfortable working under pressure in a fast-paced and ambiguous environment.
  • Self-motivated with a results-driven approach.
  • Willing to be placed anywhere in Gojek area of operations.


About the Team

Account Manager (AM) will work as a team within a certain district and closely collaborate with the Merchant Engagement and Sales Support team. Ideally, an AM regularly visits assigned merchants to see what really happened on the ground as well as providing necessary advice to them in increasing transaction overtime.
