Job Description

Informa Markets, a division of Informa, creates global platforms for industries, organizing over 500 large-scale events and providing year-round online platforms. We are seeking an energetic Account Manager for our Smartcore sales team in Amsterdam, Netherlands. This hybrid role combines strategic account management with business development, focusing on building, growing, and retaining a portfolio of accounts within the food ingredients and nutrition industry. The manager will also identify new business opportunities by leveraging established relationships with 2,500+ exhibitors across world-class health and nutrition events.

Must Have:
  • Build and nurture relationships with existing accounts.

  • 3-5+ years of proven experience in B2B account management.
  • Demonstrated success in meeting or exceeding revenue targets.
  • Expertise in managing large account portfolios.
  • Proficiency in Salesforce CRM or similar systems.
  • Understanding of integrated B2B marketing campaigns.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong negotiation skills.

  • Advanced written and verbal communication in English.

Job Description

This role is based in our Amsterdam, Netherlands Office

We’re looking for an energetic and results-driven Account Manager to join our Smartcore sales team. In this role, you’ll combine strategic account management with business development, focusing on building, growing, and retaining a portfolio of accounts within the food ingredients and nutrition industry. You’ll also tap into our established relationships with 2,500+ exhibitors across world-class health and nutrition events to uncover new business opportunities.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

Account Management & Growth

  • Build and nurture relationships with a portfolio of existing accounts.
  • Present tailored digital marketing solutions that boost brand awareness and generate high-quality leads.
  • Develop account-specific growth strategies using our data-driven insights and specialized digital content channels.
  • Strengthen relationships with key decision-makers at industry-leading companies.

Business Development & Revenue Generation

  • Re-engage lapsed accounts and convert them into active clients through strategic campaigns.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities within assigned accounts.
  • Collaborate with the business development team to optimize account retention and growth.
  • Use consultative selling techniques to understand client objectives and deliver solutions that improve ROI.
  • Create compelling proposals that showcase measurable ROI through impactful digital marketing campaigns.

Client Relationship & Operations

  • Act as the primary point of contact for assigned accounts, ensuring an exceptional customer experience.
  • Maintain accurate account information, sales activities, and pipeline data in Salesforce.
  • Address client concerns proactively and resolve issues to ensure high retention rates.
  • Provide regular reporting on account performance, revenue forecasts, and campaign ROI metrics.

Qualifications

Experience & Skills

  • 3-5+ years of proven experience in B2B account management with a track record of growing accounts.
  • Experience in converting lapsed accounts and securing new business.
  • Demonstrated success in meeting or exceeding revenue targets and account growth objectives.
  • Expertise in managing large account portfolios.
  • Skilled in consultative selling, with the ability to uncover hidden opportunities and guide clients toward effective solutions.

Technical & Industry Knowledge

  • Familiarity with digital marketing solutions and strategies (highly preferred).
  • Knowledge of the food ingredient and/or nutraceutical industries is a plus.
  • Proficiency in Salesforce CRM or similar systems.
  • Understanding of integrated B2B marketing campaigns, including content marketing, email marketing, and lead generation.

Core Competencies

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage C-level executives.
  • Strong negotiation skills and a proven ability to deliver measurable ROI.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to leverage data-driven insights for cross-selling and up-selling.
  • Advanced written and verbal communication in English; additional languages are a plus.
  • Willingness to travel for client meetings and industry events.
