Job Summary
Philips is seeking an experienced AI Foundry Lead to join the Frontier AI foundRy team (FAIR) within the Data & AI Engineering organization. This role involves leading exploratory sprints, co-developing proofs-of-concept with Philips Business Units, and building AI capabilities for next-generation intelligent products and services. The lead will act as a solution architect, technical lead, and hands-on individual contributor, leveraging the latest AI technologies, cloud services, and agentic frameworks to translate frontier ideas into scalable engineering solutions.
Must Have
- Lead and architect advanced AI capabilities from concept to implementation within the AI Foundry.
- Design, prototype, and scale AI systems leveraging cloud-native architectures (AWS, Azure, GCP) and modern agentic frameworks.
- Translate stakeholder needs into clear, actionable technical work packages and execution plans.
- Partner with BUs, Markets, and Functions to identify high-impact use cases and accelerate AI adoption.
- Provide technical leadership across multiple initiatives, balancing experimentation, engineering rigor, and speed.
- Stay ahead of emerging AI, GenAI, and cloud trends to guide strategic technology decisions and inspire the team.
- Support co-creation of reusable capabilities and contribute to Philips’ AI engineering standards and lifecycle practices.
- Foster a culture of innovation, autonomy, and shared ownership.
- 8+ years of experience in software engineering, data engineering, or AI system design.
- Proven experience architecting and implementing cloud-based AI solutions (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Strong knowledge of AI frameworks, large language model integration, and AI agent orchestration.
- Solid understanding of microservices, API-based integration, and MLOps / LLMOps practices.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to drive complex, cross-functional initiatives with limited oversight.
Good to Have
- Experience with healthcare-grade AI solutions or regulated product development.
- Familiarity with hyperscaler AI services (e.g., AWS Bedrock, Azure OpenAI, GCP Vertex AI).
- Experience leading hackathons, innovation sprints, or internal accelerators.

We are looking for an experienced and hands-on AI Foundry Lead (Technical Lead) to join our Frontier AI foundRy team (FAIR), responsible for running exploratory sprints, co-developing proofs-of-concept with Philips Business Units (BUs), and building the AI capabilities that power Philips’ next generation of intelligent products and services, within Philips Data & AI Engineering organization, part of the global Innovation & Design (I&D) function.
You will act as both a solution architect and technical lead, while also being a hands-on individual contributor who needs to;
- Leverage the latest AI technologies, cloud services, and agentic frameworks to turn frontier ideas into scalable engineering solutions
- Be bridging business needs and technical design, translating complex technical challenges into elegant business context
- Be the jack of all trades as per need, as architech, as technical lead or as developer.
Your role:
- Lead and architect advanced AI capabilities from concept to implementation within the AI Foundry.
