Job Summary
This role is for an AI Frameworks Architect within Intel's NPU organization, focusing on research and development for future AI on Edge, desktop, and mobile computers. The architect will be a senior technical member of the NPU architecture performance COE team, responsible for developing next-generation NPU architecture performance models and conducting performance analysis. Key responsibilities include setting strategic and technical designs for AI frameworks, protocols, algorithms, and optimizations, making high-level design choices for software structure, and collaborating on development priorities. The role involves pathfinding, technology surveying, and influencing architectures to optimize software offerings.
Must Have
- Develop next-generation NPU architecture performance models
- Conduct performance analysis using models from benchmarking suites or customer use cases
- Set strategic and technical design of AI frameworks, protocols, algorithms, and optimizations
- Make high-level design choices for software structure, protocols, and algorithms
- Determine coding, development tools, validation, and standards compliance requirements
- Collaborate with management, product owners, and project managers on requirements and priorities
- Perform pathfinding and survey technologies
- 3+ years of experience in Computer Architecture
- 3+ years of experience in Hardware Modeling and Design
- 3+ years of experience in Artificial Intelligence
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science or related engineering field with 4+ years of relevant experience
- Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science or related engineering field with 3+ years of relevant experience
- PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering/Computer Science or related engineering field

In this position, you will be function as a senior technical member in the NPU architecture performance COE (center-of-excellence) team. The primary responsibility of the team includes developing the next generation NPU architecture performance model and conducting performance analysis using models from various benchmarking suites or customer end-to-end use cases.
Who You Are
Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
- Sets the strategic and technical design of AI frameworks, protocols, algorithms/topologies, and optimizations.
- Makes high level design choices focused on manageability, scalability, usability, resiliency, availability, security, and/or safety for the software structure, protocols, and algorithms.
- Determines coding, development tools, validation, and standards compliance requirements.
- Collaborates with management, product owners, and project managers to evaluate feasibility of requirements and determine priorities for development.
- Performs pathfinding, surveys technologies, participates in standards committees, and presents at external and internal events.
- May interact with multiple technologists in the company to influence architectures and optimize/customize software offerings.
- Prior experience in architecture definition and/or mentoring junior engineers is highly desirable.
Qualifications:
You must possess the minimum education requirements and minimum required qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Additional preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. Qualifications could be obtained through a combination of schoolwork, classes, research, and/or relevant previous job and/or internship experiences.
Minimum Qualifications
- The candidate must have a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science or related engineering field with 4+ years of relevant experience Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science or related engineering field with 3+ years of relevant experience -OR- PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering/Computer Science or related engineering field
- 3+ years of experience in any of the following:
- Computer Architecture
- Hardware Modeling and Design
- Artificial Intelligence

The Software and AI (SAI) Team drives customer value by enabling differentiated experiences through leadership AI technologies and foundational software stacks, products, and services. The group is responsible for developing the holistic strategy for client and data center software in collaboration with OSVs, ISVs, developers, partners and OEMs. The group delivers specialized NPU IP to enable the AI PC and GPU IP to support all of Intel's market segments. The group also has HW and SW engineering experts responsible for delivering IP, SOCs, runtimes, and platforms to support the CPU and GPU/accelerator roadmap, inclusive of integrated and discrete graphics.

Annual Salary Range for jobs which could be performed in the US: $168,100.00-266,400.00 USD
