Job Summary
The Analyst/Senior Analyst in Know Your Business (KYB) Operations is crucial for ensuring compliance and mitigating risk by verifying customer identities and business entities. Responsibilities include conducting due diligence, analyzing data for accuracy, identifying risks, and collaborating on KYB strategies. The role aims to maintain regulatory compliance, prevent financial crimes, and support business growth within Nium, a leader in real-time global payments.
Must Have
- Review and verify business registration documents, ownership structure, UBO details, and relevant licenses.
- Conduct KYB and enhanced due-diligence checks based on risk profiles.
- Ensure customer profiles are accurately assessed with appropriate risk ratings and timely resolution of name-screening alerts.
- Assist in improving and streamlining end-to-end compliance operational processes through automation and technology.
- Ensure all Client Due Diligence requests and activities are resolved within agreed timeframes.
- Perform periodic, trigger, and ad hoc AML reviews on clients' profiles.
- Conduct country-specific risk assessment highlighting control gaps and ensure remediation.
- Lead the roll out and ongoing management of the Compliance Training Framework.
- Participate in Compliance or business-driven projects and strategic initiatives.
- Conduct detailed onboarding and due-diligence reviews for financial institutions.
- Assess FI regulatory status, license scope, shareholding structure, risk exposure, and operational jurisdictions.
- Review AML policies, sanctions controls, governance frameworks, and risk-mitigation measures.
- At least 6-8 years’ experience in compliance role(s) with robust knowledge on Compliance topics (KYB / KYC, AML/CFT, Sanctions etc.).
- Good understanding of the Payments/Fintech industry.
- Strong analytical skills with experience in problem solving and implementing solutions.
- Ability to identify inefficiencies, challenge status quo, and define scalable processes.
- Able to prioritize quickly and meet deadlines even under pressure.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Team player with strong collaborative qualities and willingness to build/lead a team.
- Willingness to learn continuously and keep up to date with the Payments industry and regulatory landscape.
- Fluent English.
- Flexibility to work outside normal office hours and in rotational shifts.

About the Role:
Analyst/Senior Analyst in Know Your Business (KYB) Operations plays a critical role in ensuring compliance and risk mitigation by verifying and validating customer identities and business entities. Their responsibilities include conducting due diligence checks, analyzing data for accuracy and completeness, identifying potential risks, and collaborating with internal teams to develop and implement KYB strategies. Their objective is to maintain regulatory compliance, safeguard against financial crimes, and support business growth
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and verify business registration documents, ownership structure, UBO details, and relevant licenses, while conducting KYB and enhanced due-diligence checks based on risk profiles, and ensuring customer profiles are accurately assessed with appropriate risk ratings and timely resolution of all name-screening alerts during onboarding.
- Assist in to improve and streamline end to end compliance operational processes through automation and technology. Use technology and machine learning to build capabilities to scale.
- Ensure all Client Due Diligence requests and activities, including review of clients’ profile, risk rating, name screening, verification of documentations during the clients' lifecycle are resolved within agreed timeframes, and any issues or bottlenecks that arise are escalated in a timely manner.
- Perform periodic, trigger, and ad hoc AML reviews on clients' profile, and ensure that adverse news hits and increased risk factors have been appropriately identified and escalated in accordance to company’s procedures and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct country specific risk assessment highlighting control gaps, and working with stakeholders to ensure remediation is completed timely.
- Lead the roll out and ongoing management of the Compliance Training Framework.
- Participating in Compliance or business-driven projects, including regulatory developments and strategic initiatives.
- Conduct detailed onboarding and due-diligence reviews for financial institutions, including banks, money service businesses, EMI/PSPs, brokerages, and payment facilitators.
- Assess (Financial institute) FI regulatory status, license scope, shareholding structure, risk exposure, and operational jurisdictions.
- Review AML policies, sanctions controls, governance frameworks, and risk-mitigation measures implemented by the (Financial institute) FI.
Requirements:
- At least 6-8 years’ experience within regulated companies, in compliance role(s) with robust knowledge on Compliance topics (KYB / KYC, AML/CFT, Sanctions etc.)
- Good understanding of the Payments/Fintech industry.
- Knowledge and experience (preferably within Payments/Fintech)
- ACAMS/ICA certified (preferably)
- Strong analytical skills with experience in problem solving and being able to implement and deliver solutions.
- Demonstrate clear sense of accountability in performing the role and a positive demeanor.
- Ability to identify inefficiencies, see the bigger picture, challenge the current status quo and define scalable and sustainable processes and methodology.
- Able to prioritize quickly and meet deadlines even under pressure.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Team player with strong collaborative qualities, including some previous experience (or willingness) to build, lead and motivate a team.
