Job Description

As an Anti-Cheat Team Lead at Ubisoft Montreal, you will guide a team of programmers and tech leads in developing anti-cheat technologies for games like Rainbow Six Siege. You will proactively identify threats, collaborate with other teams to harden the codebase, and provide tools for independent work. Your role involves distributing tasks, following up on projects, and supporting team members' professional development and well-being. You will also code alongside your team and communicate with leads to improve processes and share technologies, aiming to deliver quality, consistent systems for a rich gaming experience.
Must Have:
  • Distribute tasks and follow-up on the progress of various projects during team meetings.
  • Proactively identify threats to multiplayer online games and plan the best way to address them.
  • Collaborate with other teams (gameplay, physics, networking, engine) to continuously improve and harden the codebase.
  • Provide your team with the tools they need to work independently.
  • Meet individually with each member of your team to discuss performance, well-being, and career advancement.
  • Communicate regularly with leads in other disciplines to plan, assess risks, and deliver on time.
  • Code alongside your team members.
  • Keep your project lead informed of the progress of your assignments.
  • Meet with other leads to discuss ways to improve processes and share technologies.
  • A bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, or an equivalent field.
  • Vast experience in video game programming or with large live systems.
  • A minimum of three years of experience managing a team of programmers.
  • Proficiency in C++ and other programming languages commonly used for developing games or online platforms.
  • Experience participating in the full production of at least one game or the equivalent as a programming team lead.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and strategic leadership skills coupled with strong empathy and diplomacy.
  • The ability to remain calm in demanding situations.
  • A real understanding of video game production and the ability to put yourself in the shoes of other professionals.

JOB DESCRIPTION

What you will do :

  • Keep your project lead informed of the progress of your assignments and meet with other leads, both on your project and others, to discuss ways to improve processes and share technologies.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • A bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, or an equivalent field
  • Vast experience in video game programming (strong technical background in engine and/or online and/or gameplay programming and Security is a plus), alternatively: vast experience with large live systems (platforms with many disciplines involved).
  • A minimum of three years of experience managing a team of programmers
  • Proficiency in C++ and other programming languages commonly used for developing games or online platforms.
  • Experience participating in the full production of at least one game or the equivalent as a programming team lead
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Excellent communication and strategic leadership skills coupled with strong empathy and diplomacy
  • The ability to remain calm in demanding situations (you know that there is always a solution)
  • A real understanding of video game production and the ability to put yourself in the shoes of the other professionals involved in production
