Job Description

Kalshi has defined a new category: prediction markets, allowing people to trade on event outcomes. It's the fastest-growing financial market in America, with over 1,900 markets. Kalshi aims to build the largest financial market on the planet, bringing more truth to the world through markets. The AP Specialist will strengthen Kalshi’s financial backbone by owning core accounting and vendor processes, supporting operational reporting, and streamlining systems, sitting at the intersection of finance, operations, and strategy.

Must Have:

Review and process vendor invoices, reimbursements, and card expenses.
Maintain vendor records and streamline AP workflows.
Collect W-9s, W-8s, and support year-end 1099 filings.
Track operational cash and assist with internal reporting.
Help build documentation and improve process clarity.
Maintain accruals, reconciliations, and other core records (AP, Prepaids, etc.).
Support month-end close and other recurring tasks.
2–4 years of experience in accounting, finance operations, or payroll/AP.
Familiarity with tools like NetSuite and Ramp.

What Is Kalshi

Kalshi is the first and only federally regulated exchange where people can trade on any event. Think like the NYSE, but instead of trading stocks, you trade on the events you know and care about. After three years of regulatory struggle, Kalshi's historic regulatory approval from the CFTC has allowed it to launch a new asset class: event contracts. Event contracts, the fastest-growing asset class today, are elegant financial instruments structured as simple yes/no questions about the future.

In 2024, Kalshi Klear was approved as a Derivatives Clearing Organization (DCO) and now manages all clearing activity for its exchange members.

Role Roadmap

We’re looking for a sharp, detail-oriented AP Specialist to strengthen Kalshi’s financial backbone. You’ll own core accounting and vendor processes, support operational reporting, and help streamline the systems that keep our company running smoothly. This role sits at the intersection of finance, operations, and strategy — perfect for someone who loves turning structure into speed.

Key Responsibilities

Accounts Payable & Vendor Management

Review and process vendor invoices, reimbursements, and card expenses
Maintain vendor records and streamline AP workflows
Collect W-9s, W-8s, and support year-end 1099 filings
Track operational cash and assist with internal reporting

Finance & Ops Organization

Help build documentation and improve process clarity
Maintain accruals, reconciliations, and other core records (AP, Prepaids, etc.)
Support month-end close and other recurring tasks
Pitch in on cross-functional finance and admin projects

Qualifications

2–4 years of experience in accounting, finance operations, or payroll/AP
Familiarity with tools like NetSuite and Ramp
Highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive
Comfortable in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
Collaborative, resourceful, and unafraid to take ownership

NYC Pay Transparency Disclosure:

Salary Range: $100,000 to $180,000 annually plus equity and benefits.

This salary range is based on the current available market data, and represents the expected salary range for this role. Kalshi has minimal hierarchy and few titles, but has broad ranges of experience represented within roles.
