Job Summary
The Finance trainee apprentice will support key financial and accounting processes, involving structured training, collaboration, and daily exposure to Amex Finance. Key responsibilities include reviewing, analyzing, and reporting AXP and Segment Balance Sheet, reconciling accounts, performing basic data analysis, assisting with month-close tasks, preparing standard financial reports, collaborating with stakeholders, and assisting in preparing standard operating procedures.

How will you make an impact in this role?
The Finance trainee apprentice will be responsible for supporting key financial and accounting processes within the organization. The role will involve structured training, collaboration and opportunity to experience the dynamic world of Amex Finance every day.
Key responsibilities
- Responsible for Review, Analysis and Reporting of AXP and Segment Balance Sheet and reconciliation review of various balance sheet accounts
- Perform basic data analysis, including creating spreadsheets, summarizing financial information, identifying trends and drafting variance commentary
- Assist with other routine month-close tasks, as assigned
- Prepare standard financial reports, including monthly/quarterly summaries, under supervision
- Collaborate with key stakeholders, R&C Owners, process area experts and other teams within and outside BSA to gather relevant financial information needed for meeting the requirements of the role
- Assist in preparation/refresh of standard operating procedures and ensure adherence to company’s financial and management policies
Qualifications and skills:
- Should be a Graduate with finance specialization
- Demonstrates knowledge and application of basic accounting principles.
- Demonstrates analytical skills and basic ability to understand the linkages to processes.
- Ability to think innovatively and to pursue ideas with conviction.
- Working knowledge of MS-Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Exhibits positive attitude, agility and willingness to learn and develop
