Job Summary
As a Senior Instructor at the Navy Synthetic Warfighting Centre (NSWC), you will supervise and manage synthetic warfare training scenarios, including Advanced Tactical Training (ATT). This role involves leading and mentoring the NSWT delivery team, ensuring compliance with training standards, and planning and executing major synthetic events. You will also liaise with Defence agencies and coalition partners to align training objectives and provide recommendations to enhance training effectiveness. The position requires significant experience in naval operations and combat systems.
Must Have
- Supervise and manage synthetic warfare training scenarios, including ATT.
- Lead and mentor the NSWT delivery team, ensuring training standards.
- Plan and execute major synthetic events (LFE, ATT, SWIPE).
- Liaise with Defence agencies and coalition partners.
- Provide recommendations to streamline processes and enhance training effectiveness.
- 8–12 years of experience in naval operations and synthetic training environments.
- Familiarity with Naval Combat Management Systems (AEGIS and 9LV preferred).
- Strong understanding of RAN operational structure, warfighting principles, and doctrine.
- Minimum 10 years experience with ADF operations and exercise requirements.
- Proven leadership experience managing teams of combat system operators.
Good to Have
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.
- Background in roles such as Surveillance Control Officer, Fighter Controller, Air Combat Officer.
- Experience in intelligence coordination or tactical planning roles.

As a Senior Instructor at NSWC, you will:
- Supervise and manage the delivery of synthetic warfare training scenarios, including Advanced Tactical Training (ATT).
- Lead and mentor the NSWT delivery team, ensuring compliance with training standards and operational requirements.
- Plan and execute major synthetic events (LFE, ATT, SWIPE), filling key roles such as EXCON Director, Battle Management Coordinator, and Tactical Coordinator.
- Liaise with Defence agencies and coalition partners to align training objectives and capabilities.
- Provide recommendations to streamline processes and enhance training effectiveness.
Our Ideal Candidate Has:
Essential:
- 8–12 years of experience in naval operations and synthetic training environments.
- Familiarity with Naval Combat Management Systems (AEGIS and 9LV preferred).
