Job Summary

Onward Search is seeking an Audio Visual Technical Manager for an onsite contract role in Lake County, Illinois. This role involves serving as a subject matter expert for meeting, event, and video production, collaborating with various teams, supervising AV Technicians, and managing AV equipment. The ideal candidate will have over 5 years of experience in digital video production, web streaming, and live corporate events, along with strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Must Have

  • Serve as the subject matter expert for all aspects of meeting, event, and video production.
  • Collaborate with Account Managers, Project Managers, and suppliers to ensure accurate project scoping and timely execution within budget.
  • Provide regular updates on project status.
  • Supervise and mentor AV Technicians.
  • Manage crisis situations effectively, prioritizing logistics to meet client needs.
  • Maintain and coordinate repairs and purchases of all department audio, video, and streaming equipment.
  • Assist in technical aspects of new facility build-outs and upgrades.
  • Ensure compliance with safety codes and corporate policies.
  • Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications, Communications, Theater Production, Marketing, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Over 5 years of experience in digital video production technology, web streaming systems, and live corporate events.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proven problem-solving skills and a customer-focused approach to service delivery.
  • Ability to work independently with meticulous attention to detail, managing multiple priorities effectively.

Job Description

Join our client’s dynamic team as an Audio Visual Technical Manager, where your expertise in live event AV integration will be pivotal. With a strong foundation in pre-production and execution, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and enhancing the organization’s video, meetings, and event production services.

Audio Visual Manager Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the subject matter expert for all aspects of meeting, event, and video production.
  • Collaborate with Account Managers, Project Managers, and suppliers to ensure accurate project scoping and timely execution within budget.
  • Provide regular updates on project status and address any issues with the Resource Center schedulers and account teams.
  • Supervise and mentor AV Technicians, fostering their professional growth.
  • Manage crisis situations effectively, prioritizing logistics to meet client needs.
  • Maintain and coordinate repairs and purchases of all department audio, video, and streaming equipment.
  • Assist in technical aspects of new facility build-outs and upgrades.
  • Ensure compliance with safety codes and corporate policies.

Audio Visual Manager Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications, Communications, Theater Production, Marketing, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Over 5 years of experience in digital video production technology, web streaming systems, and live corporate events.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact professionally with all levels of internal clients and stakeholders.
  • Proven problem-solving skills and a customer-focused approach to service delivery.
  • Ability to work independently with meticulous attention to detail, managing multiple priorities effectively.
