Business Analyst – Professional Services (India)

Function: Professional Services Reporting to: Implementation head, India PS

The Business Analyst (BA) plays a critical role in bridging the gap between customer needs and technical delivery. As part of the India Professional Services team, the BA is responsible for gathering business requirements, supporting solution design and testing, and ensuring that project deliverables align with client expectations and business outcomes. This is a highly collaborative role involving close partnership with Solution Architects, Project Managers, and technical teams.
Key Responsibilities
1. Requirement Gathering & Analysis
- Engage with business stakeholders to identify, analyze, and document functional and non-functional requirements.
- Translate business needs into detailed requirement specifications and use cases.
- Collaborate with Solution Architects to define solution plans aligned with customer expectations.
2. Collaboration & Quality Assurance
- Act as a liaison between business users and delivery teams during solution implementation.
- Assist in preparing test strategies, reviewing test cases, and conducting user acceptance testing (UAT).
- Validate solutions against requirements, ensuring high quality and business alignment.
- Support PMs in tracking deliverables and managing scope changes.
3. Problem Solving & Continuous Improvement
- Monitor solution performance and identify enhancement opportunities.
- Proactively identify and help resolve business and process issues.
- Recommend optimization opportunities to improve business outcomes.
4. Functional Expertise & Knowledge Sharing
- Develop subject matter expertise in assigned business areas and solutions.
- Participate in training sessions and workshops to support knowledge transfer and end-user readiness.
- Contribute to documentation of business processes, functional workflows, and solution configurations.
Qualifications
Must Have Experience:
- 5–8 years of work experience. Experienced as a Business Analyst in IT, SaaS, or Professional Services environments.
- Hands-on experience with business and technical documentation (BRDs, FRDs, process flows).
- Exposure to Agile methodologies, SDLC principles, and UAT cycles.
- Strong stakeholder management and facilitation skills.
- Experience working in cross-functional teams across delivery, architecture, and engineering.
Preferred Experience:
- Familiarity with two or more of the following: ECM, BPM, Imaging, Workflow Automation, IDP, AI-powered OCR, NLP/LLMs.
- Experience in Professional Services or Consulting environments.
- Knowledge of SaaS vs. On-Prem trade-offs and solution design principles.
- Exposure to intelligent content services and digital transformation projects.
