SoftwareOne and Crayon are seeking a Business Development Manager for Microsoft Security. This role involves solving complex security challenges for customers by presenting compelling Microsoft Security solutions. The ideal candidate will partner with sales teams, act as a presales solutioning expert, demonstrate Microsoft Security technologies, and develop proposals. Responsibilities include building customer relationships, co-owning sales activities, designing technical solutions, and maintaining CRM records. The role requires strong communication, problem-solving skills, and expertise in Microsoft 365 Security solutions.

Must Have

  • Build and manage strong customer relationships, engaging IT to C-level stakeholders.
  • Partner with Account Managers to co-own sales activities and qualify opportunities.
  • Lead discovery, gather business requirements, and design high-level technical solutions.
  • Maintain accurate CRM inputs and report on pipeline and delivery status.
  • Continuously deepen technical expertise through certifications and industry learning.
  • Strong presentation, communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to position Digital Workplace and Security offerings, including managed services.
  • Proven experience in Security sales/presales with solid Microsoft 365 Security knowledge.
  • Familiarity with industry standards such as ISO and NIS2.
  • Effective multitasking and pipeline management, maintaining required certifications.

The role

Do you thrive in front of customers—whiteboarding, presenting, and shaping security strategy—while partnering with sales teams to turn opportunities into impactful outcomes?

A Presales a solutioning expert against customer problems/ business needs. As a Presales Security, you will act as the key technical contact / presales overlay role for our field sales team. You will demonstrate Microsoft Security technologies, execute quick feasibility assessments, scope technical and security design and develop proposals to meet customer needs. You will also illuminate the road to optimal security posture by leading whiteboard sessions and customer presentations. To be successful, you will possess exceptional presentation, written and verbal skills. You should be a subject matter expert in the Microsoft Security Services portfolio. You will collaborate with the Business Development Manager, or BDM, to help new and existing customers and land opportunities for defined Security portfolio elements.

Responsibilities:

  • Build and manage strong customer relationships, engaging stakeholders from IT to C-level and driving net-new business within assigned accounts.
  • Partner closely with Account Managers to co-own sales activities, qualify opportunities, contribute to account plans, and support proposals, RFPs, and solution marketing efforts.
  • Lead discovery, gather complex business requirements, and design high-level technical solutions—including SOWs, BOMs, and cost estimates—in collaboration with technical teams.
  • Maintain accurate CRM inputs, report on pipeline and delivery status, and represent SoftwareOne externally through events, webinars, and partner engagements.
  • Continuously deepen technical expertise through certifications and industry learning to ensure informed, value-led conversations and well-constructed service contracts.

What we need to see from you

  • Strong presentation, communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to engage confidently at engineering, management, and executive levels.
  • Ability to position and combine Digital Workplace and Security offerings, selling managed services, cross-selling value add-ons, and articulating financial and business impact.
  • Proven experience in Security sales/presales with solid knowledge of Microsoft 365 Security solutions and familiarity with industry standards such as ISO and NIS2.
  • Effective multitasking and pipeline management, able to work within tight timeframes while maintaining required sales and technical certifications.
  • Tech-savvy, collaborative, and entrepreneurial mindset—open-minded, eager to learn, and a positive influence within the team.
