Job Summary
The CAD Engineer (Ecad) will create and modify PCB designs and detailed CAD drawings, ensuring DFM/DFA/DFT requirements are met. This role involves collaborating with RF Design, Mechanical, and Test Development Engineers from concept through manufacturing and test. Key responsibilities include hosting design reviews, creating fabrication and assembly drawings using Cadence Allegro, generating ECOs, managing component libraries within Cadence PLM, and ensuring design integrity and efficient product lifecycle management.
Must Have
- Create and modify PCB designs and CAD drawings with DFM/DFA/DFT requirements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (RF Design, Mechanical, Test Development).
- Create or update fabrication and product assembly drawings using Cadence Allegro.
- Manage and maintain component libraries within Cadence PLM.
- Create new components and symbols in Cadence Allegro.
- BSE Degree in Electronic, Component or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- 7+ years in PCB design, including high-speed and multilayer boards.
- Advanced proficiency with Cadence Allegro and Cadence PLM tools.
- Strong experience in component creation, symbol and footprint development, and library management.
- Extensive knowledge of DFX and PCB manufacturing processes.
- RF high-frequency design knowledge with heavy experience on ATE multisite load boards and probe cards.
- Experience with Microsoft Office and excellent communication skills.

Create and modify PCB designs and detailed CAD drawings with keen attention to DFM/DFA/DFT requirements. Contribute as an individual and collaborate closely with RF Design Engineers, Mechanical Engineers, and Test Development Engineers to create designs from concept through manufacturing and test. This role requires deep expertise in Cadence PLM systems, component creation, and library management to ensure design integrity and efficient product lifecycle management.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including mechanical and hardware engineers and manufacturing specialists, from concept to schematic, layout, and assembly.
- Host design reviews with all stakeholders.
- Create or update fabrication and product assembly drawings using Cadence Allegro.
- Generate ECOs (Engineering Change Orders) to release completed drawings and BOMs.
- Implement changes to existing documentation based on input from engineering and manufacturing teams.
- Manage and maintain component libraries within Cadence PLM, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with design standards.
- Create new components and symbols in Cadence Allegro, ensuring proper electrical and mechanical attributes.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to define and implement library management processes and best practices.
- Ensure version control and traceability of components and design data throughout the product lifecycle.
- Troubleshoot and resolve library-related issues and support continuous improvement of PLM workflows.
Job Requirements
- BSE Degree in Electronic, Component or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- 7+ years in PCB design, including high-speed and multilayer boards.
- Advanced proficiency with Cadence Allegro and Cadence PLM tools.
- Strong experience in component creation, symbol and footprint development, and library management.
- Extensive knowledge of DFX and PCB manufacturing processes.
- Proven ability to work efficiently, effectively manage timelines and expectations, and produce high-quality deliverables.
- RF high-frequency design knowledge with heavy experience on ATE multisite load boards and probe cards.
- Experience with Microsoft Office; excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ideal candidate will have experience in both electrical and mechanical design; experience with SolidWorks is a big plus.
