Job Description

This role offers a journey of growth with training and mentoring within an international, agile team. You will take on responsibility from day one, driving your own projects and establishing an international network. Key responsibilities include preparing Management Accounts and Statutory Reporting, gaining knowledge in Risk Management and Compliance, preparing Solvency II and other Regulatory Reporting, authorizing banking transactions, liaising on taxation matters, assisting with IFRS 17 and Solvency II implementation, and supporting new business presentations. You will also attend client board meetings and ensure compliance with Maltese laws.
Must have:
  • Preparation of Management Accounts and Statutory Reporting to meet client reporting deadlines
  • Gain knowledge in Risk Management, Compliance, Governance, SCR and ORSA Calculations
  • Preparation of Solvency II, Central Bank and other Regulatory Reporting
  • Authorise banking transactions and asset management administration
  • Liaise with clients and their advisers regarding taxation matters
  • Assist with the implementation of IFRS 17 and Solvency II
  • Assist in the preparation of feasibility studies and new business presentations
  • Attend client company board and committee meetings, presenting on insurance, accounting, and finance matters
  • Ensure client companies comply with Malta Company Law and The Insurance Business Act
  • Assist with the management of clients in Malta and across other Continental Europe domiciles
  • Attend relevant training courses either in Malta or abroad as required

We will count on you to:

  • Preparation of Management Accounts and Statutory Reporting including responsibilities to ensure that all client information relating to underwriting, claims and accounting matters are produced accurately and in a timely manner to meet client reporting deadlines;
  • Gain knowledge and encompass such areas as Risk Management, Compliance, Governance, SCR and ORSA Calculations;
  • Preparation of Solvency II, Central Bank and other Regulatory Reporting within the stipulated deadlines;
  • Authorise banking transactions and asset management administration for a selected portfolio of client companies in compliance with the Investment Guidelines and in conjunction with the Treasury Officer.
  • Liaise with clients and their advisers with regards to taxation matters.
  • Assist with the implementation of IFRS 17 and Solvency II.
  • Assist in the preparation of feasibility studies, and assisting with new business presentations and insurance license applications.
  • Attend client company board and committee meetings and presenting / addressing insurance, accounting and finance matters, as required, in conjunction with the other members of the client servicing team. Including responsibility for the co-ordination of these meetings and the production of the necessary agenda, papers and minutes.
  • Ensure client companies comply with all aspects of Malta Company Law and The Insurance Business Act; together with other relevant Laws, Codes and Regulations
  • Assist with the management of clients in Malta and across other Continental Europe domiciles.
  • Attend relevant training courses either in Malta or abroad as required. All reasonable costs including travel and accommodation expenses associated with such courses will be borne by the Company.

What you need to have:

  • Minimum of Bachelor's Degree in Finance;
  • Excellent knowledge of the English;
  • ACA or ACCA qualification or equivalent;
  • High Proficiency in using MS Office Application;
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
