Job Summary
Join Synechron as a Cloud System Administrator, focusing on critical support for cloud infrastructure environments, primarily AWS. This hybrid role in Novi Sad or Belgrade involves ensuring operational stability, maintaining infrastructure currency, and responding to incidents and requests. You will troubleshoot issues independently, provide out-of-hours support, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative solutions and drive business success.
Must Have
- Support cloud environments primarily on AWS (EC2, EBS, AMI, EKS, RDS, RedShift, S3, SFTP, IAM/Identity Center, VPC configurations)
- Follow runbooks and documented procedures for incident response, system monitoring, and routine operational tasks
- Provide operating system support mainly for Windows environments (patching through AWS Systems Manager (SSM), backup, and restore operations)
- Troubleshoot and resolve operational issues independently, taking ownership of problems
- Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and escalate issues beyond scope or expertise as necessary
- Participate in out-of-hours support rotations to maintain 24/7 operational continuity
- Maintain clear and up-to-date documentation on operational procedures, incident tickets, and system status
- Ensure smooth handoff and communication with adjacent teams such as Database Administrators and Network Operations
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and business-as-usual (BAU) project work
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in cloud operations or infrastructure support roles
- Extensive practical experience with AWS services (EC2, EBS, AMI, EKS, RDS, RedShift, S3, SFTP via AWS Transfer Family, IAM/Identity Center, and VPC fundamentals)
- Strong skills in operating system support, especially Windows environments (patch management via AWS Systems Manager (SSM) and backup/restore procedures)
- Ability to follow detailed runbooks and documented procedures with accuracy
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to act independently where standards do not apply
- Comfortable providing out-of-hours support in a professional and methodical manner
- Good communication skills for effective teamwork and issue escalation
- Familiarity with IT Service Management (ITSM) practices
- Proactive and adaptable mindset suited for a dynamic support environment
Good to Have
- Experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Datadog
- Familiarity with Azure DevOps pipelines or similar CI/CD platforms
- Basic knowledge of Terraform infrastructure automation
- Understanding of OS security tools including CrowdStrike
- Experience with Active Directory / Entra ID
- Familiarity with cloud security posture management tools like Wiz
- Exposure to Azure cloud services
- AWS Certified SysOps Administrator – Associate
