Job Description

The Collections and Customer Communication Specialist will manage the collections process, ensuring timely invoice payments and maintaining client relationships. Responsibilities include resolving overdue accounts, implementing strategies to improve cash flow, addressing client inquiries, collaborating with internal teams, maintaining accurate records, and identifying process improvements. The role requires effective communication and collaboration with both internal and external stakeholders. The specialist will also handle supplier relationships and generate performance reports. This role reports to the Accounting Manager.

About the Team:

The AlphaSense Finance team is responsible for efficiently driving the creation of enterprise value by supporting capital allocation decisions across the business.  We exist to help the company make intelligent, data-driven decisions through financial analysis; scenario modeling; tracking, interpreting and disseminating key performance indicators; and by serving as a critical thought partner to senior leadership.

About the Role: 

The Collections Specialist is responsible for managing and optimizing the collections process, ensuring timely payment of outstanding invoices, and maintaining positive relationships with our clients. They will be the primary contact on the accounting team for both internal and external stakeholders around matters related to billing. The position reports to the Accounting Manager. 

What You’ll Do: 

  • Efficiently manage the end-to-end collections process, including identification and resolution of overdue accounts. 
  • Implement effective strategies to minimize outstanding receivables and improve cash flow. 
  • Provide excellent customer service by addressing client inquiries and concerns related to billing and collections in a timely and professional manner. 
  • Collaborate with internal teams to resolve customer issues and ensure a positive customer experience. 
  • Maintain accurate and up to date records of all collection activities, communications and payment arrangements. 
  • Manage and maintain supplier relationships, including registration on portals, tax information, onboarding forms, and verification of banking details.
  • Proactively identify opportunities for process improvements in the collections workflow. 
  • Generate reports to track and analyze collection performance. 
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Who You Are:

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree (preferred).
  • Proven experience as a Collections Specialist or similar role. 
  • Strong understanding of A/R processes and billing systems. 
  • Exceptional customer service and communication skills. 
  • Detail oriented with a high level of accuracy.
  • Professional demeanor and strong work ethic. 
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Proficient in Excel and Netsuite preferred.

For base compensation, we set standard ranges for all US-based roles based on function and level benchmarked against similar stage growth companies and internal comparables. In order to be compliant with local legislation, as well as to provide greater transparency to candidates, we share salary ranges on all job postings regardless of desired hiring location. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors including candidate experience/expertise and may vary from the amounts listed below.

You may also be offered a performance-based bonus, equity, and a generous benefits program.

Base Compensation Range

$55,000 - $60,000 USD
