Join our culinary team as a Commis II in the vibrant city of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia! We're seeking a detail-oriented and collaborative individual to play a crucial role in our kitchen operations. As a Commis II, you'll work alongside our talented chefs to create exceptional dining experiences for our guests.

  • Assist the Chef de Partie and Demi Chef in preparing mise en place for all menu items according to standard recipes
  • Contribute to the production and distribution of high-quality food items as per kitchen requirements
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the workplace and storage areas, adhering to HACCP regulations
  • Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure efficient and timely food preparation
  • Recognize and maintain good quality products and presentation standards
  • Participate in team meetings and training sessions to enhance culinary skills and knowledge
  • Manage time effectively to meet production deadlines and maintain smooth kitchen operations
  • Support cost control efforts while maintaining high-quality food production
  • Assist in inventory management and proper storage of ingredients and supplies

Qualifications

  • Formal culinary diploma or equivalent certificate
  • Proficiency in food preparation techniques and cooking methods
  • Strong knowledge of standard recipes and ability to follow them accurately
  • Understanding of food quality standards and attractive presentation techniques
  • Familiarity with HACCP regulations and food safety practices
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Strong teamwork and communication abilities
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment
  • Basic math skills for recipe measurements and inventory management
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new culinary techniques and trends
  • Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift moderate weights
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays
