Job Description

WildBrain is seeking an experienced Compensation Manager to join their team in Toronto, Canada. This role involves blending compensation philosophy with business realities, developing creative and pragmatic solutions, and making a direct impact on the business. The manager will lead annual compensation programs, including salary planning, bonus execution, market pricing, and equity program administration. They will also support analytic activities, collaborate on compensation program redesign, conduct job analysis, and streamline processes within a dynamic, fast-paced entertainment business.
Good To Have:
  • Global experience in job evaluation and market analysis.
  • Experience in Sales compensation and Executive compensation.
Must Have:
  • Lead the execution of annual programs: salary planning, bonus plan analysis and execution, market pricing and salary structure review, long-term equity program administration.
  • Support VP, Global Talent Operations on analytic activities, including partnering with Finance teams on forecasting, accruals, and budget preparation.
  • Lead and/or collaborate on projects like compensation program redesign, ad-hoc analysis, and policy reviews.
  • Conduct job analysis and evaluation, considering compliance implications (US FLSA and global requirements).
  • Document internal pay practices and identify opportunities to streamline processes.
  • Coordinate and supply supporting documentation for Board reporting, internal and external audit compliance.
  • Provide details of upcoming equity and compensation activities to payroll, confirming tax calculations.
  • Partner with Payroll and Benefits on analytics for annual budget cycles, including fringe rates.
  • Broad knowledge of analytics, incentives, and compensation theory.
  • Ability to blend compensation philosophy, best-in-class methods, and business realities.
  • Strong job evaluation and market analysis skills.
  • Highly pragmatic approach to balancing best practices with business practicalities.
  • Strong financial analysis experience related to incentive plans.
  • Ability to plan, prioritize, and manage multiple high-visibility projects.
  • Advanced skills in PowerPoint and Excel (pivot tables, V-look-ups, data analysis functions).
  • Exceptional attention to detail and ability to work quickly under pressure.
  • Self-driven and strategic in thought processes to draft recommendations and conclusions from data.
  • Demonstrated experience building relationships and working with multiple clients on complex projects.

We are looking for an experienced Compensation Manager who dreams about manipulating data in Excel but who also has appetite to put their own stamp on programs and support the needs of a dynamic and fast-paced Entertainment business. That means rolling up your sleeves, tackling analysis that stretches beyond Compensation and building relationships with a globally based team of Talent partners and business leaders. ## Job Description What you'll do: * Lead the execution, with the support of the VP, Global Talent Operations on the planning and administration of a variety of annual programs including annual salary planning, annual bonus plan analysis and execution, market pricing and salary structure review, long-term equity program administration, or other compensation related programs * Support VP, Global Talent Operations on other analytic activities, including partnering with Finance teams on forecasting and accruals and budget preparation * Lead, and/or collaborate with the broader Talent team on a variety of projects, including compensation program redesign, ad-hoc analysis, policy reviews, cross-functional project teams, and implementation of new programs * Conduct job analysis and evaluation, with an awareness of compliance implications in the US (i.e. FLSA) and considering global requirements as well * Document internal pay practices to publish management guidelines for compensation actions; Proactively identify opportunities to redefine and streamline processes, working with key stakeholders * Coordinate and supply supporting documentation for Board reporting, internal and external audit compliance * Providing details of upcoming equity and compensation activities to payroll team; work with Payroll to confirm taxes are calculated correctly on equity settlements * Partner with Payroll and the Benefits team members on analytics required for annual budget cycles, including the development of fringe rates ## Qualifications What you'll bring; * A broad knowledge of principles, practices, and procedures related to analytics, incentives and compensation theory * Ability to blend compensation philosophy, best in class compensation methods / programs, and business realities * Strong job evaluation and market analysis skills; global experience is an asset * Highly pragmatic - balancing best-in-class approach with practicalities of the business * Strong financial analysis experience related to incentive plans; experience in Sales compensation and Executive compensation an asset * Able to plan, prioritize and manage multiple, high-visibility projects and initiatives * Advanced skills in PowerPoint and Excel (must be proficient with pivot tables, V-look-ups, and other functions and formulas for data analysis and reporting) * Exceptional attention to detail and ability to work quickly under pressure * Self-driven and strategic in thought processes to draft recommendations and conclusions after analyzing data (be able to tell a story with data) * Demonstrated experience building relationships and working with multiple clients on large, complex projects, including independently identifying client needs and expectations ## Additional Information What We Offer Working at WildBrain is more than a job — it’s the opportunity to join forces with extraordinary, insightful and imaginative people who will recognize your talents and encourage your professional growth and development in a work environment that promotes creativity and individuality.
