Job Description

WPTV is seeking a Content Coordinator (Editor) to manage, edit, and track incoming and outgoing content across multiple platforms. This role involves monitoring content, collaborating with newsroom staff, identifying and resolving content issues, maintaining storage, and editing content for various platforms. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, be detail-oriented, and proficient in computer-based and non-linear video editing software.
Good To Have:
  • Working knowledge of the multitude of paths by which content is imported and exported
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Effective delegation and problem resolution skills
  • Detail-oriented, organized and ability to work effectively under pressure
  • Proficiency with computer based editing, including non-linear video editing software programs
Must Have:
  • Monitor, communicate and traffic all incoming content.
  • Collaborate with newsroom staff to achieve editorial objectives.
  • Identify issues with incoming content, evaluate alternatives and implement solutions.
  • Maintain storage and capacity of storage area network (SAN).
  • Edit content for use on multiple platforms.
  • Operate various news gathering equipment including but not limited to video editing equipment.
  • Communicate consistently with newsroom staff regarding content, including but not limited to coordinating with field crews.
  • Distribute content to other Scripps units.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Monitor, communicate and traffic all incoming content.
  • Collaborate with newsroom staff to achieve editorial objectives.
  • Identify issues with incoming content, evaluate alternatives and implement solutions.
  • Maintain storage and capacity of storage area network (SAN).
  • Edit content for use on multiple platforms.
  • Operate various news gathering equipment including but not limited to video editing equipment.
  • Communicate consistently with newsroom staff regarding content, including but not limited to coordinating with field crews.
  • Distribute content to other Scripps units.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

  • BS/BA in related discipline preferred or equivalent years of experience
  • Generally, 5 +years of experience in related field preferred

WHAT YOU'LL BRING:
