Role Summary
The Continuous Improvement Specialist is an individual contributor responsible for supporting and executing process optimization initiatives across HP’s distribution operations. Working closely with CI leadership and cross-functional teams, this role identifies, analyses, and implements improvements that drive efficiency, quality, cost control, and customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in Lean, Six Sigma, and data-driven problem solving, with experience in high-volume, technology-enabled distribution or logistics environments. This role requires excellent analytical, communication, and collaboration skills to help embed a culture of operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the execution of the continuous improvement (CI) roadmap by identifying, analyzing, and implementing targeted process improvements within distribution operations.
- Use data analysis, value stream mapping, and stakeholder feedback to uncover opportunities that enhance productivity, cost control, and quality.
- Participate in and occasionally lead cross-functional CI projects (e.g., automation, process reengineering, layout optimization), from idea generation through benefit realization.
- Assist in the facilitation of Kaizen events, rapid improvement workshops, and Lean initiatives, including preparation of materials, data collection, and documentation of outcomes.
- Collaborate with operations, engineering, and supply chain teams to standardize best practices and drive adoption of CI tools and methodologies.
- Develop and maintain process documentation, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and training materials to support sustainable improvements.
- Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) such as order accuracy, cycle time, cost per order, and customer satisfaction.
- Support change management efforts by assisting with communication plans, training sessions, and post-implementation reviews.
- Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement by sharing insights, coaching peers, and promoting operational excellence across the distribution network.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations, or related field.
- 3+ years of experience in process improvement, operations, or logistics within a distribution, supply chain, or manufacturing environment.
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt (or higher) certification preferred.
- Experience supporting or leading CI projects with measurable results in cost, quality, or service.
- Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); experience with data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau) is a plus.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills; detail-oriented and able to manage multiple priorities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; able to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Experience with warehouse management systems (WMS) and automation technologies is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a global, matrixed organization.
- Familiarity with HP’s products, distribution models, or technology sector best practices.
- Formal training in change management or project management (e.g., Prosci, PMP).
- Experience with process documentation and SOP development.
The base pay range for this role is $65,450 to $98,800 annually with additional opportunities for pay in the form of bonus and/or equity (applies to US candidates only). Pay varies by work location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
