This is a hybrid position that requires an office presence of 8 days a month. The selected person will work in our office in Bogotá. It is required to have a valid work authorization at the time of application, as WRI cannot sponsor any type of visa or work permit for this position.

The WRI Ross Center for Sustainable Cities (Cities Program) contributes to transforming cities into compact, connected, and resilient spaces that offer healthy, accessible, and prosperous living environments for their inhabitants. Urban Data and Finance topics are transversal and nourish all our solutions. We implement these solutions through deep and sustained work with multiple actors in rapidly growing cities, in order to demonstrate transformation possibilities. Summary of the position's tasks:
The technical coordinator in electromobility's main function is to support the electromobility team in structuring, implementing, and seeking funding for projects related to electromobility, sustainable mobility, and air quality improvement in Colombia within the framework of WRI's Ross Center for Cities.
This role will include project coordination and implementation functions that may include tasks such as:
- Execute technical activities in electromobility projects.
- Conduct field and literature research on topics such as transport decarbonization, vehicle energy efficiency, national and subnational regulation, and regulatory framework in Colombia.
- Collect data through interviews, counts, surveys, and other methodologies (both primary and secondary sources).
- Support the preparation of deliverables such as presentations, written reports, research, and other knowledge products.
- Organize, participate in, and facilitate the development of events, workshops, focus groups, and surveys.
- Event organization
It will also include functions related to program administration, institutional representation, and fundraising.

What will you do in this role?
1. Execute the technical tasks of electromobility projects (80%)
- Carry out the technical activities related to the defined electric mobility projects.
- Design data collection procedures, support information gathering, and conduct research in the field of electromobility. Carry out fieldwork such as surveys, traffic counts, and interviews with key stakeholders.
- Conduct documentary research to support the development of different projects and write reports with the results.
- Align project activities with local and national public policies on sustainable mobility and energy transition.
- Supervise the work of consultants, suppliers, and technical personnel involved in the project.
- Monitor administrative, contractual, or procurement processes related to electromobility projects.
2. Support WRI's institutional representation activities (10%)
- Support the preparation and execution of various events such as focus groups, workshops, virtual seminars (webinars), among others, aimed at WRI colleagues, donors, key stakeholders, and government entities (at local and national levels).
- Attend and participate in key strategic events for WRI's institutional positioning and project development.
3. Support fundraising processes (10%)
- Support the development of proposals by writing, designing, and preparing technical proposals for obtaining funds.
Required Profile:
Academic background:
- University degree (undergraduate) in civil, environmental, or electronic engineering.
- Master's degree in civil, environmental, electronic, mechanical engineering, or urban planning.
Experience:
- Between 4 to 6 years of relevant full-time work experience in the development of sustainable transport, public transport, active mobility, or electric mobility projects.
- Two years of experience in design, implementation, structuring, or advising entities on issues related to the development of mobility policies, programs, or projects.
- Desirable experience in public transport electrification, focus on emissions management and implications of transport on public health.
- Desirable experience in the development of research methodologies, data collection and analysis in transport and air quality, among others.
- Desirable experience in qualitative research methodologies.
- Desirable experience in data collection, analysis, and development of communication tools with Power BI, QGIS, ArcGIS or other data tools.
Languages:
- Native Spanish.
- English equivalent to B2 according to the Common European Framework (no certification or exam is necessary)
Additional requirements:
- Have a valid work authorization in the place where the position is performed. WRI cannot support visa procedures.
