Job Description

Universal Music Group (UMG) is seeking a Coordinator, Licensing & Contracts for its Universal Music Enterprises (UMe) division. This role is an integral part of the Film & TV Music Contract Administration team, requiring knowledge of contract language, royalty administration, and accounts receivables. The coordinator will support the team, manage client relationships, handle financial transactions, and liaise with various internal departments to ensure efficient execution of licenses and address client queries.
Must Have:
  • Provide support for the UMe Contract Administration team
  • Develop relationships with clients, business affairs and finance
  • Enter relevant deal information into the Film & TV database
  • Researching and allocating payments
  • Oversee weekly deposits
  • Manage collections deadlines and handle daily accounts receivables
  • Liaise with internal Business Affairs, labels, and Finance departments
  • Collaborate with Contract Administration team’s execution of licenses
  • Communicate effectively with clients and answer client queries regarding invoices and licenses
  • Demonstrated ability to interact effectively with clients and co-workers
  • Strong proficiency and working knowledge of Microsoft Windows/Outlook, Word, Excel
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills and extremely detail-oriented
  • Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Highly self-motivated, accountable and resourceful with strong follow-through skills
  • Ability to work well and accurately under pressure in a fast-paced, high volume work environment and consistently meet deadlines
  • At least one year of prior film and TV licensing and/or entertainment paralegal and/or finance/royalty department experience required

The Coordinator, Licensing & Contracts at Universal Music Enterprises (UMe), a division of Universal Music Group (UMG) will serve as an integral member of the Film & TV Music Contract Administration team. The ideal candidate will possess some knowledge of contract language and structure, royalty administration and accounts receivables. This role works very closely with UMe’s Business Affairs and Finance departments and UMG’s royalty department.

How You'll Create:

  • Provide support for the UMe Contract Administration team
  • Develop relationships with clients, business affairs and finance through internal and external communication
  • Enter relevant deal information into the Film & TV database, as applicable
  • Researching and allocating payments
  • Oversee weekly deposits
  • Manage collections deadlines and handle daily accounts receivables (lockbox, Wires, ACH, intercompany transfers)
  • Liaise with internal Business Affairs, labels, and Finance departments
  • Collaborate with Contract Administration team’s execution of licenses
  • Communicate effectively with clients and answer client queries regarding invoices and licenses
