Zelis is seeking a Senior Data Scientist to collaborate with analytics and data engineering teams, focusing on collecting, analyzing, and deriving insights from company, client, and public data. The role involves strong experience in data mining, predictive modeling, building and implementing models, supervised/unsupervised learning, NLP, feature reduction, cluster analysis, and simulations. This position is crucial for modernizing the healthcare financial experience in the U.S. by streamlining processes and improving transparency, efficiency, and communication among all parties.

Must Have:- Understand the business objective and directly participate in the delivery of data science solutions.
- Extract and analyze data: assessing quality, profiling, cleansing, exploratory data analysis and transformation.
- Design and develop statistical modeling techniques such as regression, classification, anomaly detection, clustering, deep learning, and feature reduction.
- Build, test, and validate models through various relevant methodologies, error metrics, and calibration techniques.
- Validate post-production model performance and calculate ROI.
- Work with cloud analytic platforms on AWS/Azure using PySpark, Sagemaker, Snowflake, Azure Synapse Analytics.
- Perform multiple tasks and deal with changing deadline requirements, escalating issues when needed.
- Monitor the projects of Junior Data Scientists, and mentor and provide guidance.
- Proactively provide recommendations to the business based on insights derived from data science modeling techniques.
- Communicate data science models’ complex results and insights to non-technical audiences.
- Interact with cross-functional technical teams and multiple business stakeholders to support integration of data science solutions.
- Advanced degree in data science, statistics, computer science, or equivalent with a background in statistics.
- Proficiency in SQL, Python/R, NLP and LLM.
- 3-5 years of relevant work experience including 5 years of experience in developing algorithms.
- Competent in machine learning principles and techniques.
- Experience with cloud-based data and AI solutions.
- Familiarity with collaboration environments (e.g. Jupyter notebooks, gitlab, github).
