As Development Manager, you will lead, support, and motivate a team of 5 Product Owners and an architect within the Scandinavian agile release train. You will be responsible for ensuring the team has the skills, tools, and support to deliver against departmental objectives while maintaining close cooperation with Product Managers representing the TAA Scandinavia business. Your leadership will be instrumental in driving Wolters Kluwer’s DXG Scandinavia development strategy: migrating from on-premise to cloud SaaS solutions, leveraging Wolters Kluwer’s global infrastructure, and delivering customer-focused, compliant products. This role combines people leadership, strategic delivery, and technical insight. It offers significant visibility with senior leadership and a clear career path to the CTO position for the right candidate.
Must have:
  • Lead and coach Product Owners within the Scandinavian SaFE train and development groups to deliver content and products
  • Ensure SaFE teams have the right composition and resource levels across Scandinavia and offshore centers; support organizational change as required
  • Balance resources to ensure availability for delivery on department objectives
  • Recruit, develop, and retain high-performing team members
  • Act as an escalation point for customer issues and ensure extraordinary customer experience
  • Use data and insight to drive decision-making and enhance team performance
  • Manage the team to achieve KPIs and effectively address underperformance
  • Take ownership of key projects within the department’s strategy
  • Work closely with the Scandinavia Dev MT functions to deliver an end-to-end customer experience and ensure ongoing compliance with industry regulations
  • Provide technical insight and support in advanced troubleshooting when required
  • Collaborate with architects on provisioning, identity management, and cloud migration
  • Contribute to departmental budgeting and resource allocation processes
  • Report on departmental performance, delivery, and technology advancements to senior leadership
  • Foster servant leadership values: empower, coach, and align an ambitious, highly autonomous team
  • 5–10 years’ people management experience, leading Product Owners, Product Managers, or development teams
  • Proven track record with SaaS and cloud software development
  • Experience with SaFE or other scaled Agile frameworks
  • Strong people leadership: delegation, empowerment, mentoring, and professional growth
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to engage at all levels
  • Strong stakeholder management skills in cross-matrix environments
  • Problem solver with commercial acumen and creativity
  • Ability to diagnose complex technical issues and support decision-making across teams
  • Experience in monitoring KPIs and driving continuous improvement
  • Swedish and English fluency required
