Job Summary
As a DevOps Engineer at WebMD Health Services, you will play a key role in ensuring our systems are scalable, secure, and high-performing across both cloud and on-premise environments. You will work closely with application teams to design reliable CI/CD pipelines, automate infrastructure operations, and lead efforts to migrate our system to an on-prem environment. This role is ideal for someone who is hands-on, proactive, and passionate about system stability, automation, and security.
Must Have
- Relevant experience and strong interest in System Administration (Unix/Linux) and/or DevOps.
- Deep experience in cloud-native architectures, including Kubernetes, MicroService architecture, Secret management, and Observability solutions.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and configuration management.
- Understanding of modern continuous integration / continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipeline.
- Experience with load balancing, autoscaling, database tuning, and systems with high availability and performance.
- Experience with maintaining on-premise systems/infrastructure.
- Expertise in Amazon Web Services (AWS) and the ability to use a wide variety of open-source technologies.
- Experience in monitoring tools like Datadog and Sentry, integrating with an incident management platform like PagerDuty.
- Good knowledge of PostgreSQL, MySQL, NoSQL, and Redis.
- Proficient in command line tools, shell scripts, and a programming language (Ruby / Python).
- Deploy different tools, components, and systems into Production.
- Automate and manage the deployment processes using Continuous Integration and Delivery techniques.
- Monitor and ensure that the system infrastructure is up and running at all times.
- Monitor system performance and undertake needed performance tuning.
- Document the configuration of the system infrastructure.
- Establish and monitor security policies for all systems.
- Able to attend to system alerts on an on-call basis.
- Build/automate tools and assist application teams in CI/CD.
Good to Have
- Background which includes industry standard compliance (e.g., ISO, GDPR, SOC2, Microsoft 365 Certificate).

Your Skills and Experience
What are we looking for from you?

- Must be proficient in command line tools, shell scripts, and a programming language, and willing to learn any new languages as requested (Ruby / Python)
- Knowledge of best practices and IT operations in an always-up, always-available service
- Background, which includes industry standard compliance (eg, ISO, GDPR, SOC2, Microsoft 365 Certificate), is a plus point
- Willingness to learn and try new things, break down hard tasks, and think out of the box
