This role seeks an experienced DevOps/Kubernetes engineer for a platform migration for a Formula One team, focusing on minimal downtime and high reliability.
Must Have:
  • Proven experience migrating production workloads between Kubernetes clusters
  • Strong expertise with declarative deployment approaches including Helm charts, Kubernetes CRDs, ArgoCD applications, Crossplane compositions, and Kustomize overlays
  • Experience with vcluster implementation for virtual cluster isolation and namespace-based multi-tenancy patterns, including resource quotas, network segmentation, and tenant boundaries
  • Hands-on experience with ArgoCD patterns, migrating Flux-based deployments, and working within multi-environment promotion pipelines
  • Experience transitioning from Terraform deployments to modern cloud-native approaches, including Crossplane XRDs and Kubernetes-native resource management
  • Practical experience with hybrid deployments across AWS EKS and on-premises Kubernetes (Rancher), understanding environment-specific configurations and networking requirements
  • Working knowledge of Azure DevOps and Bitbucket Pipelines for build automation, with experience integrating GitOps deployment workflows
  • Familiarity with OpenTelemetry instrumentation and Prometheus metrics collection
  • Understanding of Kubernetes security models, RBAC configuration, network policies, tenant isolation, and secrets management using Hashicorp Vault
  • Ability to quickly analyse existing architecture, and work within a team to document the new state for knowledge transfer

Looking for an experienced DevOps / Kubernetes engineer for a platform migration engagement for a Formula One team.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and execute the migration of production workloads across Kubernetes clusters with minimal downtime and high reliability
  • Develop and maintain YAML-based deployment strategies using Helm, Kustomize, ArgoCD, Kubernetes CRDs, and Crossplane compositions
  • Implement and support namespace-based and virtual cluster (vcluster) multi-tenancy models, including resource quotas, network segmentation, and secure tenant boundaries
  • Design, migrate, and manage GitOps deployment pipelines using ArgoCD, with experience transitioning from Flux-based systems and supporting multi-environment promotion workflows.
  • Transition legacy Terraform infrastructure to Kubernetes-native resource management using Crossplane XRDs and other
  • Manage and troubleshoot Kubernetes deployments across AWS EKS and on-premises environments (e.g., Rancher), ensuring consistent configuration and networking standards.
  • Build and maintain CI/CD workflows using Azure DevOps and Bitbucket Pipelines, integrating with GitOps-based deployment mechanisms.
  • Implement monitoring solutions using OpenTelemetry and Prometheus to ensure system health and performance visibility.
  • Define and manage Kubernetes RBAC, network policies, tenant isolation, and secrets management using tools like Hashicorp Vault.
  • Rapidly assess existing infrastructure, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and produce detailed documentation for knowledge sharing and system transition.

Job requirements

  • Kubernetes Platform Migration: Proven experience migrating production workloads between Kubernetes clusters
