Nasdaq Technology is looking for a passionate Director DevOps Engineering with focus on leading a team of high performing DevOps engineers supporting real-time mission critical applications that power the Nasdaq internal markets, to join the technology center in India. As a Director DevOps Engineering you will lead a cross-functional team, deliver production support and contribute into technical implementation for critical data solutions for financial markets around the globe. As Director DevOps Engineering your focus will be to build and lead a team whose primary responsibility will be to support applications operating on 24-hour schedule, and the additional responsibility to lead contributions into technical and infrastructure updates for the supported applications. Besides managing your team, you will also work closely with Nasdaq teams in other countries.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Build and manage a new team of DevOps engineers to provide support during US night hours for Market Platform applications operating on 24-hour schedule.
- The additional responsibility of your team will be to contribute to infrastructure and technical enhancements and fixes for the supported applications.
- Through training and close collaboration with the current application owners, lead your team to become SMEs, operating, supporting and fixing the covered applications. Become highly familiar with utilized tech stack, version control and AWS and local resource management.
- Work closely with the current technical leadership team to develop an efficient training schedule.
- Build the team capable and versatile to apply hands-on DevOps as well as software development skills to multiple supported applications.
- Lead the team to help standardize and enhance operational documentation, such as runbooks and technical specs.
- Lead the team to enhance monitoring and alerting capabilities of the supported applications.
- Establish relationship with the level 1 support teams, study the support SLAs
- Manage resources and take accountability for the performance and results.
- Review team and individual performance data to monitor and measure productivity, goal progress and activity levels.
- Motivate, develop, recruit and retain employees while rewarding and cultivating a culture of high performing teams.
- Mentor others in their work relative to DevOps and software engineering skills and responsibilities, testing and/or customizing software solutions to meet client requirements.
- Be aware of technology trends and competitive landscape and incorporate into design of solutions.
- Provide a deep domain and industry experience and expertise to support and develop creative solutions.
What we expect you to have :
- At least 10 years technical DevOps expertise supporting, operating and developing distributed applications.
- Experience managing and monitoring AWS resources, such as RDS, EKS, MSK, Data Lakes
- Proficiency with Linux commands and utilities including Bash scripting.
- Hands-on experience supporting and monitoring applications.
- Good understanding of the technical aspects of software development, such as programming languages, frameworks, tools, methodologies, and best practices.
- Familiarity with Java and React JS software development.
- Leadership skills: should be able to inspire, motivate, and empower their team members to achieve their goals and deliver high-quality software products. They should also be able to delegate tasks, resolve conflicts, and foster collaboration and trust within and across teams.
- Communication skills: Should be able to build and maintain positive relationships with their team members, as well as with other managers, clients, and partners. They should also be able to understand and address the needs, expectations, and challenges of their team members, as well as to provide them with recognition, feedback, and mentoring.
- Growth mindset: Should be open to learning new things, embracing change, and adapting to different situations. They should also encourage and facilitate the continuous learning and development of their team members, as well as to promote a culture of innovation and experimentation.
- Strategic vision: Should be able to align their team's work with the broader goals and vision of the organization. They should also be able to plan, prioritize, and implement projects effectively, as well as to measure and evaluate the outcomes and impact of their team's work.
- Education Qualification: At least master's degree or double degree qualified in a field related to Computer Science and our industry; or equivalent work experience.

- SaaS experience
- Experience supporting and developing browser-based applications using React JS
- Experience in applying AI to monitoring and software development
- Understanding of Data Lakes and Data Warehousing
- CI/CD pipeline experience
- Containers expertise (Docker and Kubernetes)
- Business knowledge in Options and Equity trading and back office.
