Job Summary
The Director Leading & Teaming is a senior leader within eBay's Talent Success organization, responsible for developing and scaling world-class leadership and team effectiveness programs. This role ensures leaders at all levels are equipped to drive high performance, cultivate belonging, and navigate change. The director will also influence team operations, collaboration, and impact, creating frameworks for strong, healthy, and innovative teams. This position requires a strategic thinker, an outstanding facilitator, and a systems-minded operator.
Must Have
- Evolve company-wide leadership development ecosystem
- Partner with HRBPs and business leaders to identify capability gaps
- Lead creation of modern, high-impact learning experiences
- Define success metrics and measure program impact
- Build a scalable Teaming framework for effective team work
- Develop toolkits and diagnostics for team formation, reset, repair, and acceleration
- Develop interventions for senior leadership teams
- Support company-wide culture initiatives
- Provide guidance on change leadership
- Influence employee experience, belonging, and psychological safety
- Serve as executive advisor and thought partner to senior leaders
- Deliver high-impact facilitation for leadership offsites and team sessions
- Define long-term vision for Leading & Teaming strategy
- Build and lead a high-performing team of 4 FTEs and multiple external vendors
- Manage budgets, vendor relationships, and external partnerships
- 12+ years of experience in Leadership Development, Talent Management, or Organizational Development
- Dedicated to working our Hybrid Model with 3+ days per week onsite at San Jose, CA corporate headquarters
- Demonstrated success designing and scaling leadership programs for a global, matrixed organization
- Expertise in team dynamics, group facilitation, conflict resolution, and organizational behavior
- Skilled at executive facilitation, leadership coaching, and navigating high-stakes situations
- Strong analytical mindset with experience building frameworks and measurement strategies
- Ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive alignment across sophisticated environments
Good to Have
- Certification in coaching (ICF, CTI, or equivalent)
- Experience with psychometric tools (e.g., Hogan, MBTI, DiSC, Insights)
- Background in organizational psychology, systems thinking, or change management
- Experience in a high-growth, transformation-oriented, or hybrid/global workforce environment

About the Role:
This is a senior leader within the Talent Success organization responsible for building, scaling, and sustaining world-class leadership and team effectiveness programs! This role ensures that leaders at all levels—people managers, senior managers, and executives—are equipped with the capabilities, attitudes, and behaviors needed to drive high performance, cultivate belonging, and navigate change!
This leader will also influence how teams across the company operate, collaborate, and deliver impact—creating frameworks, rituals, and experiences that build strong, healthy, innovative teams. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker, an outstanding facilitator, and a systems-minded operator.
What You Will Accomplish:
Leadership Development & Capability Building
- Evolve a company-wide leadership development ecosystem, including programs, pathways, curricula, and resources for all leadership levels.
- Partner with PLT, executive sponsors, HRBPs, and business leaders to identify capability gaps and build targeted development strategies.
- Lead the creation of modern, high-impact learning experiences (in-person, virtual, blended, powered by AI).
- Ensure programs reflect current research in leadership science, coaching, behavioral change, and adult learning.
- Define success metrics and measure program impact on performance, engagement, and organizational effectiveness.
Team Effectiveness & Organizational Health
- Build a scalable Teaming framework that equips teams to work more effectively, navigate conflict, and strengthen trust.
- Develop consistent toolkits, diagnostics, and facilitated experiences for team formation, reset, repair, and acceleration.
- Develop interventions for senior leadership teams focusing on strategic alignment, decision making, and interpersonal effectiveness.
- Identify systemic patterns across teams and partner with Talent Success & HR teams to address root-cause issues.
Culture, Change, and Transformation
- Support company-wide culture initiatives by embedding leadership and teaming behaviors that reinforce values and ways of working.
- Provide guidance on change leadership—helping leaders manage uncertainty, lead transitions, and connect with impact.
- Influence how leaders shape employee experience, belonging, and psychological safety.
Advisory, Coaching & Facilitation
- Serve as an executive advisor and thought partner to senior leaders on leadership behaviors, team dynamics, and organizational challenges.
- Deliver and support the delivery of high-impact facilitation for leadership offsites, team sessions, and enterprise learning moments.
Strategy & Operations
- Define the long-term vision and operating model for Leading & Teaming within the broader Talent Success strategy.
- Build and lead a high-performing team of 4 FTE’s and multiple external vendors providing learning design, facilitation, and program managers.
- Build excellent relationships within the Talent and broader People team to ensure complete stakeholder management
- Manage budgets, vendor relationships, and external partnerships.

The base pay range for this position is expected in the range below:
$190,400 - $254,200
Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave). Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
