Job Description

The Director, Solution Engineering, will oversee projects with cross-functional teams and assist in the recommendation of best solutions working with internal partners across the organization. This role supports sales to drive the 'technical close' within the Payments organization, building and presenting technical solution materials and demonstrations. Responsibilities include documenting customer requirements, collaborating with Delivery, and interacting with various internal teams. The role also involves leading a team of Solution Engineers, identifying customer needs, and guiding standardization of solutions.
Must have:
  • Oversee projects with cross-functional teams.
  • Assist in recommending best solutions with internal partners.
  • Build and present compelling technical solution materials.
  • Conduct technical demonstrations during sales.
  • Document customer requirements and solution capabilities in SOW.
  • Collaborate with Delivery during implementation.
  • Report to Executive Director of Solution Engineering.
  • Lead a team of Solution Engineers.
  • Identify customer requirements and promote product/solution design.
  • Provide guidance to less experienced Solution Consultants.
  • Collaborate with other solution engineers and architects.
  • Demonstrate functional and technical aspects of the solution.
  • Assess deliverables, approach, and solutions for standardization.
  • Bachelor's degree in BS/BA/BE, or related field.
  • 8+ years' experience in sales of software products and services.
  • 10+ years progressive pre-sales experience in CSG's target markets (Financial Services, Telecom, Healthcare, Retail, Government, Property Management).
  • Experience developing new businesses and quota accomplishment in a pre-sales role supporting large to mid-sized enterprises.

Director, Solution Engineering

The Director, Solution Engineering, will oversee projects with cross-functional teams and assist in the recommendation of best solutions working with internal partners across the organization.

The Solution Engineer is recognized as an individual contributor supporting sales to drive the "technical close". This role lies within the Payments organization and is responsible for building and presenting compelling technical solution materials and technical demonstrations during the sales phase, documenting customer requirements and solution capabilities in an SOW during the contracting phase and finally collaborating with Delivery during the implementation phase. This role frequently interacts with peers from Sales, Customer Success, Product Management & Engineering, Compliance, Operations, Marketing, Info Sec, and Delivery. In addition, in some circumstances Solutions Engineers may support, guide, and advise other team members.

We are looking for a Director, Solution Engineering who will:

  • Reporting into the Executive Director of Solution Engineering, leading a team of Solution Engineers focused on accelerating time to value, mitigating churn, and driving competitive differentiation within the across all market segments.
  • Contribute towards building materials, conducting sales presentations and product demonstrations.
  • Identify customer requirements and collaborate with our teams to promote the product/ solution and service design approach to meet those requirements, present the proposed solution, and adjust the solution for the customer.
  • Provide guidance to lesser experienced Solution Consultant, Solution Engineers, and Sales Directors validating products fitment, service, and/or solution relevance for the our clients.
  • Collaborate with other solution engineers and architects to design and present a technical architecture and/or product/solution design to the customer.
  • Demonstrate the functional and technical aspects of the solution while educating the customer on the value-based benefit, scalability, story, return on investment, and environment configuration of the solution.
  • Assess deliverables, approach, and solutions to guide standardization across multiple solutions sets, simplification to the solution sales approach and a more effective & efficient Customer Solutions.

  • Bachelor's degree in BS/BA/BE, or related field with 8+ years' experience in sales of software products and services
  • Proficiency in English in a business environment. Spanish and Portuguese is highly desirable.
  • 10+ years progressive pre-sales experience in CSG's target markets (Financial Services, Telecom, Healthcare, Retail, Government, Property Management)
  • Experience developing new businesses and quota accomplishment in a pre-sales role supporting large to mid-sized enterprises

Position Pay Range:

This range represents the low and high end of the salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary based on factors including but not limited to geographical location and experience.

$139,203.52-$222,725.84

This role is eligible for a bonus opportunity.
