Intel is seeking an experienced Government Affairs professional to lead state and local engagements across Ohio in support of the Intel Ohio One project. This role involves serving as Intel's primary representative to state and local government officials, business and regulatory agencies, economic development entities, community stakeholders, and industry partners. The Director will develop and execute strategic plans, build relationships with key decision-makers, monitor legislation, and manage Intel's reputation. The position is critical for advancing policies and partnerships that ensure Intel's long-term success and a supportive environment for semiconductor investments in the region.

  • Anticipate and manage potential policy, community, or reputational challenges.
  • Develop messaging and briefings for Intel executives participating in Ohio-based events or meetings with public officials.
  • Be an expert in Intel's business environment and technologies to translate these to external audiences.
  • Partner with community organizations, educational institutions, and workforce development entities to promote shared prosperity and local impact.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in political science, public relations, communications, marketing or related field.
  • 7+ years of work experience in government affairs, public policy or related roles.
  • 5+ years experience with state government organization and/or legislative processes, preferably Ohio.

This position is critical to building and maintaining strong external relationships, managing Intel's reputation, and ensuring the company's investments in Ohio are supported by constructive public policies and community engagement. The successful candidate will leverage established relationships with state and local policymakers, regulators, and stakeholder organizations to advance the company's business priorities and ensure a supportive environment for semiconductor investments in the United States.

Key Responsibilities:

Government Relations and Advocacy

  • Develop and execute strategic plans and programs that comprehensively address current and future business and regulatory needs, challenges, and opportunities for the Ohio site.
  • Build, maintain and enhance the relationship with key decision makers with state and local officials as well as specific federal government officials and its functional agencies and facilitate Intel's executive leadership's engagement with them.
  • Monitor and track state legislation and activities within the state government that could impact Intel's OH operations. Proactively research and keep Intel management abreast of any policy changes or activities that could present challenges and opportunities to Intel.
  • Support site operations and business development by connecting-the-dots and effectively mapping Intel's business objectives to external trends and addressing potential issues and influencing their outcome.

Stakeholder Engagement and Reputation Management

  • Represent Intel at state and local industry forums and events ensuring good communication and mutual understanding of OH site needs and objectives.
  • Serve as a local spokesperson for Intel on state and local matters.
  • Anticipate and manage potential policy, community, or reputational challenges.
  • Develop messaging and briefings for Intel executives participating in Ohio-based events or meetings with public officials.
  • Be an expert in Intel's business environment and technologies to translate these to external audiences.
  • Partner with community organizations, educational institutions, and workforce development entities to promote shared prosperity and local impact.

Qualifications:

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. This position is not eligible for Intel immigration sponsorship.

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelors or Master's degree in political science, public relations, communications, marketing or related field.
  • 7+ years of work experience in government affairs, public policy or related roles.
  • 5+ years experience with state government organization and/or legislative processes. Preferably Ohio.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Previous semiconductor industry experience.
  • Handle confidential information frequently and appropriately.
  • Experience representing a manufacturer or tech company.

$175,400.00-247,620.00 USD
