Job Description

The Electrical Harness Design Technician will join the mechanical design office team within the Hardware Competence Center (CCM) at Thales DMS France Sophia. This role involves developing mechanical enclosures and wiring harnesses for integrating electronic systems in marine or aerospace environments. Key responsibilities include designing wiring diagrams, proposing connectivity solutions, producing bills of materials, creating cable definition plans, and performing 3D cable definitions in constrained environments. The technician will also be proactive in suggesting optimization and interface solutions.
Must have:
  • Develop simple and complex wiring diagrams (Synoptic).
  • Propose connectivity and cable solutions adapted to Inboard or Outboard environments.
  • Produce bills of materials and ensure their integration into PLM tools.
  • Produce definition plans for each cable for manufacturing.
  • Perform mechanical and electrical integration plans for retrofits.
  • Create 3D cable definitions in constrained environments.
  • Be proactive in proposing optimization and interface solutions.
  • Experience in electrical harness design.
  • Experience in wire and ideally 3D wiring diagrams.
  • Experience in managing technical data in a PLM (preferably Palma).
  • Proficiency in Visio and CREO HMX software.
Good to have:
  • Knowledge in the field of embedded electronic bays/cabinets and IT (datacenter type).

Your daily life

Within the Hardware Competence Center (CCM) of Thales DMS France Sophia, you will join the PES (Sophia Electronics Hub) mechanical design office team as a cabling technician.

The mechanical design office gathers the necessary resources for the development of sonar product lines, particularly for the Inboard part. This involves developing mechanical enclosures (racks, bays, and cabinets) and all wiring harnesses for integrating electronic systems subjected to marine or aerospace environmental conditions.

As part of this position, the main missions will be:

  • Develop simple and complex wiring diagrams (Synoptic).
  • Propose connectivity and cable solutions adapted to Inboard or Outboard environments.
  • Produce bills of materials and ensure their integration into PLM tools.
  • Produce definition plans for each cable for manufacturing.
  • Perform mechanical and electrical integration plans for retrofits.
  • Create 3D cable definitions in constrained environments.
  • Be proactive in proposing optimization and interface solutions.

Your profile

Is your priority to design high-quality electrical solutions and efficiently manage technical data?

Do you want to discover multidisciplinary work environments where your technical skills and expertise will be valued?

You have a technician level and experience in:

  • Electrical harness design,
  • Wire and ideally 3D wiring diagrams,
  • Managing technical data in a PLM (preferably Palma),
  • Using Visio and CREO HMX software.

Knowledge in the field of embedded electronic bays/cabinets and IT (datacenter type) is recommended.
