Job Summary

As an IC Yield & Product Engineer, you will analyze and optimize IC products for yield, stability, and quality. This involves evaluating new product performance before production, providing detailed status reports, and conducting engineering data analysis, technology/product/test interaction, yield and defectivity learning, and product verification & validation. You will also contribute to production and test strategy, characterization, limit definition, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Must Have

  • Perform analysis of new product performance prior to production release.
  • Provide detailed status reports at each phase (test limit - guard band, correlation and yield summary reports).
  • Analyze and optimize IC products in terms of yield, stability and quality.
  • Conduct engineering data analysis, technology/product/test interaction, yield and defectivity learning, verification & validation of products.
  • Develop production and test strategy, including manufacturability plan and DfT concept.
  • Create characterization plans and ensure test coverage and cross-domain-correlations.
  • Prepare wafer-split-plan for process window characterization/DOE.
  • Define limits and guard bands for all test-program versions.
  • Develop Qualification Stress Hardware and provide Qualification drift reports.
  • Support Test-Program development and transfer (Production/RPT).
  • Analyze and interpret ATE test-data.
  • Support failure analysis requests (ATE/bench/FA).
  • Implement productive quality measures: dPAT, SBA, OCAP, QA.
  • Provide Yield-roadmap for electrical testing.
  • Perform Yield and Cpk analysis and reporting.
  • Drive continuous improvement for Yield and test-time, data-analysis, and reporting methods.
  • University degree in Electronics Engineering (power electronics, semiconductor development) or related discipline.
  • 0-3 years of experience in a semiconductor company.
  • Detailed understanding of semiconductor product life cycle.
  • Proficient in at least one data analysis tool (JMP, Spotfire, scripting/coding).
  • Understanding of electronic circuits (schematics).
  • Understanding of statistical analysis techniques (SPC, CPK, CPU, CPL, etc).
  • Familiar with ATE testing concepts.
  • Familiar with product knowledge (design and application basics).
  • Understanding of Failure analysis flow and methods.

Good to Have

  • Experience with GaN or other compound semiconductor devices.
  • Knowledge of semiconductor technology and (fabrication) process.
  • Good knowledge sharing and presentation skills.

In your new role you will:

  • Production and test strategy: manufacturability plan, DfT concept
  • Characterization plan
  • 360deg characterization: ensure test coverage and cross-domain-correlations
  • Prepare wafer-split-plan for process window characterization/DOE

Your Profile

You demonstrate strong analytical skills as well as communication skills and know how to establish lasting relationships and networks.

You are best equipped for this task if you have:

  • A university degree in Electronics Engineering (power electronics, semiconductor development) or a related discipline, with 0-3 years of experience in a semiconductor company
  • Detailed understanding of semiconductor product life cycle from post silicon bring up, device characterization, qualification, pre-production support, release to volume production and product sustenance
  • Proficient in at least one data analysis tool (JMP, Spotfire, scripting/ coding)
  • Understanding of electronic circuits (schematics)
  • Experience with GaN or other compound semiconductor devices strongly desired
  • Understanding of statistical analysis techniques (SPC, CPK, CPU, CPL, etc)
  • Familiar with ATE testing concepts
  • Familiar with product knowledge (design and application basics)
  • Understanding of Failure analysis flow and methods
  • Knowledge of semiconductor technology and (fabrication) process is a plus
