Equipment Engineer

As an Equipment Engineer on the Manufacturing and Operations team, you will work in a high-tech cleanroom environment, transforming silicon wafers into cutting-edge products. Your role involves developing, designing, and planning equipment and machine layouts, ensuring compliance with safety standards, and maximizing facility utilization. You will also evaluate workforce productivity, develop metrics for capacity output, establish accident prevention measures, and lead automation and operating teams to implement standardized procedures and achieve productivity gains.

Must Have

• Develop, design and plan equipment and machine layouts, workflow, and safety precautions.
• Ensure compliance with established industry safety and design standards and guidelines.
• Evaluate workforce productivity and recommend improvements to increase operational performance.
• Develop metrics to measure plant and equipment capacity output and identify bottlenecks.
• Establish accident prevention measures and plan training programs for personnel.
• Lead Automation and Operating Team at Sites for the development and implementation of standardized procedures.
• Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or a similar engineering field.
• 6+ years relevant vocational or professional training and extensive subject-specific additional qualification.
• Equivalent knowledge and skills acquired through qualified training or alternative experiences.
• College or university degree or equivalent work experience.

Your Role

Key responsibilities in your new role:

• Develop, design and plan equipment and machine layouts, workflow, and safety precautions to maximize utilization of plant and manufacturing facilities.
• Ensure compliance with established industry safety and design standards and guidelines.
• Evaluate workforce productivity and recommend improvements to increase operational performance, reduce waste and delays, and promote cost control/reductions
• Develop metrics to measure plant and equipment capacity output, and identify equipment and process flow bottlenecks
• Establish accident prevention measures, and plans and schedule training programs for personnel concerning all phases of production operation
• Ensure year-to-year productivity gains: Identify, foster, and oversee the implementation of productivity projects at manufacturing sites. Lead Automation and Operating Team at Sites for the development and implementation of standardized automation soft- and hardware, as well as optimized working procedures for non-automated areas

Your Profile

Qualifications and skills to help you sucedeed:

• Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or a similar engineering field
• A relevant (6+ years) vocational or professional training and extensive subject-specific additional qualification (such as a technician)
• Equivalent knowledge and skills, such as those acquired through qualified training or alternative experiences, are also valued
• The total knowledge and skills can also be acquired in other ways
• This role typically requires a college or university degree or equivalent work experience, including conceptual knowledge of fundamental theories, principles, and practices or equipment job experience
