Must Have

  • Bachelor or Master degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or Mathematics
  • 5+ years experience in secure system design (embedded systems or complete solutions) OR relevant experience with AI/ML solutions on edge devices and strong interest in security
  • Good understanding of embedded software design
  • Very good communication skills to discuss architectural concepts
  • Comfortable working self-engaged, independently and in cross-functional teams
  • Flexible and adaptable, willing to participate in hardware and software circles
  • Team player with strong interpersonal skills, experienced in multicultural and global working environments

Job Description

The future starts here! Ready to join the Competence Center for Crypto and Security group at NXP?

We are looking for an expert in system security architecture with a focus on AI/ML for edge systems. In this role, you will analyze security threats related to AI/ML usage on such systems and propose countermeasures that meet NXP customer needs. Additionally, you will incorporate relevant regulatory and certification security requirements into your designs.

You enjoy evaluating the cost-benefit ratio of different security measures and explaining your architecture to stakeholders across NXP with diverse backgrounds. As part of your responsibilities, you will explore how effective security measures can be implemented on resource-constrained devices. Furthermore, you will stay up to date with security-related developments in the fast-moving ecosystem that brings AI/ML to the edge.

Additionally, it’s a plus if you are well-versed in Static Application Security Testing (SAST), Dynamic Application Security Testing (DAST), and Software Composition Analysis (SCA). You enjoy guiding teams in the effective use of these tools and helping them elevate their secure coding practices. Your ability to interpret findings and translate them into actionable improvements makes you a trusted advisor in secure development. Beyond individual projects, you are passionate about scaling secure development practices across the organization. You are interested in leading and managing the community of product cybersecurity experts within NXP. You are eager to explore how emerging technologies—particularly AI/ML—can drive efficiency and innovation in secure software development.

To ensure your successful performance in this role, the following is desired

  • Bachelor or Master, preferred in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or Mathematics
  • Have 5+ years of experience in the design and development of secure systems, focus on embedded systems or complete solutions

OR

  • Have relevant experience with deploying AI/ML solutions on edge devices and a strong interest in security, preferably already with a good understanding with fundamental security concepts and principles
  • Have good understanding of embedded software design
  • Have very good communication skills to discuss architectural concepts to stakeholders with various backgrounds

Furthermore, you

  • Are comfortable working self-engaged, independently and in cross-functional teams
  • Are flexible and adaptable, and willing to participate in both hardware and software circles
  • Are a team player with strong interpersonal skills, experienced in multicultural and global working environments

Please note: The successful candidate may/will be responsible for security related tasks. The assignment may/will be in scope of security certifications, therefore a conscious and reliable way of working is necessary.
