Job Description

This role focuses on ensuring safe, reliable, and high-quality operation of Fluence’s energy storage systems across the UK. The Field Service Engineer will be a trusted technical partner for customers, delivering professional support, leading maintenance, troubleshooting, and quality control, and driving continuous improvement in safety and efficiency through collaboration with internal and external teams.
Must have:
  • Champion safe operations and maintenance at all sites, ensuring compliance with Fluence’s Safety Management Plan.
  • Be the trusted technical partner for customers, delivering fast, professional support.
  • Lead and oversee maintenance, troubleshooting, and quality control, ensuring high performance of Fluence systems.
  • Use data, root cause analysis, and peer reviews to drive ongoing improvements in safety, reliability, and efficiency.
  • Partner with internal teams (Operations, Product, Delivery) and external contractors to solve problems, share insights, and accelerate learning.

Role Overview

Enable safe, reliable, and high-quality operation of Fluence’s energy storage systems across the UK, ensuring customer trust and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Safety Leadership – Champion safe operations and maintenance at all sites, ensuring compliance with Fluence’s Safety Management Plan and zero compromise on safety.
  • Customer Success – Be the trusted technical partner for customers, delivering fast, professional support that maximizes system uptime and customer satisfaction.
  • Operational Excellence – Lead and oversee maintenance, troubleshooting, and quality control, ensuring high performance of Fluence systems and contractors.
  • Continuous Improvement – Use data, root cause analysis, and peer reviews to drive ongoing improvements in safety, reliability, and efficiency.
  • Collaboration – Partner with internal teams (Operations, Product, Delivery) and external contractors to solve problems, share insights, and accelerate learning.

Qualifications, Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience (5+ years) in energy or utility industries (e.g., wind, solar, storage, or thermal).
  • Strong technical foundation in electrical engineering or equivalent technical background.
  • Ability to manage projects and contractors with a focus on results and accountability.
  • Customer-first mindset with strong communication skills in English.
  • Comfort with travel (up to 50%) and hands-on field work.
  • Self-driven, adaptable, and motivated to solve complex problems in fast-changing environments.
