Job Description

The Finance Intern will gain practical work experience in financial operations and corporate finance practices, supporting the Finance team in delivering accurate financial reporting and analysis. This position assists with budgeting, forecasting, reconciliations, and data entry, contributing to Cubic’s organizational objectives across various projects. This is a 12-week summer experience from December to February.

Job Summary:

The incumbent will have the opportunity to gain practical work experience in financial operations and corporate finance practices. This position supports the Finance team in delivering accurate financial reporting and analysis. Additionally, assists with budgeting, forecasting, reconciliations, and data entry.

12- Week Summer Experience

December- February

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assist with monthly financial reporting and analysis

• Support budgeting and forecasting activities

• Perform data analysis and maintain financial records (such as help update Standard Operating Procedures)

• Contribute to Cubic’s organizational objectives by working across a variety of projects

• Under the direction and support of a supervisor, complete assigned duties in a timely manner

• Build positive working relationships with fellow team members and share information, knowledge and skills

• Actively participate in learning and development opportunities presented

• In consultation with a supervisor, identify areas for technical and personal improvement and address these skill and knowledge gaps through on the job training

• Provide assistance to more senior team members to achieve team objectives and work outcomes

• Respond to any enquiries and requests, and provide accurate information or arrange suitable action as necessary

General Duties and Responsibilities:

• Comply with Cubic’s Quality Management System

• Comply with Cubic Occupational Health, Safety and Environment policies and procedures

• Comply with security in accordance with established policies and procedures of the organisations

• Comply with Cubic Human Resources Procedures

• Other duties as requested

Minimum Job Requirements:

Qualifications

• Undertaking a relevant undergraduate degree as approved by Cubic

Skills/Experience/Knowledge

• Competent in the use of Microsoft Office

• Strong command in Excel (Pivot Tables, and v-lookups)

• Strong numerical and analytical skills

• Basic understanding of financial principles and accounting

• Desirable, SAP experience, BI and/or SQL (or similar)

• Committed to ongoing learning and development

• Great time management

• Critical thinking, demonstrated problem solving skills

• Able to complete assigned tasks within designated time frames

• Willing to ask for help and guidance
