Frontend Architect

Casumo is an international online casino company seeking a dynamic and innovative Frontend Architect. This role involves designing scalable, future-proof frontend architectures for a multi-team product environment, defining rendering strategies, evolving shared component libraries, and establishing high standards for code quality and performance. The architect will also act as a technical leader, guiding teams in modern best practices, improving developer experience, and coaching engineers in architectural thinking.

Must Have

• Design scalable, future-proof frontend architectures that support a multi-team product environment.
• Define rendering strategies (SSR, CSR, SSG) based on performance, SEO, product needs, and platform constraints.
• Lead the evolution of shared component libraries, design systems, and UI foundations.
• Establish and maintain high standards for code quality, performance budgets, and accessibility.
• Collaborate closely with backend teams to shape efficient APIs and data flows.
• Review and contribute to architectural decisions (ADRs), while elevating the technical bar through thoughtful mentoring.
• Act as a go-to technical consultant for squads, helping them design efficient, resilient, and maintainable solutions.
• Guide teams in modern best practices: testing, CI/CD, deployments, observability, and operational excellence.
• Introduce patterns, tools, and workflows that improve developer experience, from monorepo structures to building pipelines.
• Facilitate architectural discussions, driving alignment and shared principles across multiple teams.
• Coach and mentor engineers, helping them grow their architectural thinking and technical depth.
• Proven experience architecting large-scale frontend applications using React, Next.js, or similar frameworks.
• Deep knowledge of state management, data fetching, caching, and real-time update strategies.
• Strong understanding of web performance metrics (LCP, CLS, TTI) and how to improve them.
• Solid experience with TypeScript, modern build systems (Webpack, Vite, Turborepo, Nx), and CI/CD pipelines.
• Hands-on experience with component libraries, design systems, tokens, and theming.
• Understanding of web accessibility (WCAG) and secure coding practices (XSS, CSRF, CSP).
• Experience collaborating with backend teams on API design and integration.
• Comfort with Git, code reviews, versioning strategies, and cross-team communication.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills in English.

Good to Have

• Experience leading frontend guilds, chapters, or architecture councils.
• Exposure to micro-frontends or distributed UI architecture patterns.
• Familiarity with observability tools like Sentry, Datadog, New Relic.
• Deep experience with performance profiling and bundle analysis at scale.
• Exposure to feature flagging, A/B testing, canary or progressive deployments.
• Contributions to open-source frontend tooling or frameworks.

Position Overview:

We’re on the lookout for a Frontend Architect who lives and breathes scalable product engineering. Someone who can zoom out to design a multi-team architecture, then zoom right back in to help a squad debug a rendering bottleneck. This role sits at the intersection of architecture, leadership, and hands-on technical direction. You’ll be the guiding voice for our frontend ecosystem, partnering with product, backend, and design to create a foundation that empowers teams to build confidently and ship with quality.

Responsibilities:

As an Architect

• Design scalable, future-proof frontend architectures that support a multi-team product environment.
• Define the right rendering strategies (SSR, CSR, SSG) based on performance, SEO, product needs, and platform constraints.
• Lead the evolution of our shared component libraries, design systems, and UI foundations.
• Establish and maintain high standards for code quality, performance budgets, and accessibility.

Requirements:

You’re a frontend leader who blends technical mastery with pragmatic delivery. You care deeply about maintainability, developer experience, and performance, and you’re energised by helping others level up.

• Proven experience architecting large-scale frontend applications using React, Next.js, or similar frameworks.
