We are now expanding our presence in Spain and looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Accountant to support the setup and ensure the ongoing accounting processes of our new Spanish entity. This position will be based in Madrid, where we are currently building our local team.

In this role, you will:
- Help set up and maintain the local accounting system in alignment with our ERP (NetSuite) and Group Accounting and Financial Controlling teams.
- Process and review invoices, bank statements, cash receipts, and travel expenses.
- Calculate, prepare, and support the submission of VAT returns and statutory reports in Spain.
- Carry out timely and accurate accounting duties for the Spanish entity.
- Perform period-end activities, including account reconciliations and journal entries in NetSuite.
- Collaborate with the Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) team to ensure expenses are booked and allocated to the right cost centers and categories.
- Ensure all transactions and internal processes comply with relevant Spanish financial, tax, and labor regulations.
- Prepare data for statutory reporting and audits, coordinating with external advisors when needed.
- Work collectively in a global accounting team.
- Participate in cross-functional projects that support the growth of JetBrains in Spain and globally.
We’ll be happy to have you on our team if you have:
- Relevant degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
- At least four years of relevant experience.
- Strong knowledge of Spanish GAAP and tax regulations; familiarity with IFRS would be a plus.
- Experience working with ERP systems; NetSuite experience would be a plus.
- Process-oriented mindset with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proficiency in Spanish.
- Hands-on, proactive attitude and readiness to take responsibility in building processes from the ground up.
