Job Summary

This role is for an Information System Administrator Engineer at Thales in Brest Nomy, France. The position involves deploying, maintaining, and evolving IT system components, monitoring infrastructure, and providing technical support to users. Key responsibilities include managing user accounts, configuring workstations, and ensuring system security. The ideal candidate will have expertise in Linux, Windows, server environments (NetApp, NAS, NFS), deployment tools (Ansible, Terraform), and network protocols.

Must Have

  • Ensure the deployment of IT system components and their evolutions (MCO/MCS/MCH) in coherence with architect specifications.
  • Take charge of adding new components to IT systems.
  • Monitor the information system infrastructure.
  • Write technical operating documentation.
  • Accompany SI architects during SI design.
  • Be proactive in proposing improvements for our IT systems.
  • Administer user accounts and their rights.
  • Prepare and configure technical computer workstations.
  • Provide technical support to users.

Good to Have

  • Mastery of virtualization systems (VMware ESXi, vSphere).
  • Knowledge of NAS and NFS environments.
  • Experience with Active Directory architectures and their administration.

Your daily life

The Brest site hosts our digital services activities as well as Thales' expertise in development, integration, and maintenance for maritime patrol and surveillance systems, electronic warfare, sonar systems, and airborne anti-submarine warfare, as well as our digital services activities.

The Defense Mission Systems activity provides equipment, solutions, and services related to electronic combat systems, surveillance and reconnaissance, naval combat, surface, and underwater warfare.

From development to integration, including operational maintenance, the Sophia site covers the entire life cycle of sonar systems and equipment for submarines and surface vessels, as well as simulation products, with a strong acoustic and signal processing component.

As part of your network administration missions, you will be required to:

Your profile

Are you from an engineering background or equivalent with a specialization in information systems?

  • Do you master Linux (RedHat), Windows 10, and Windows Server operating systems?
  • Do you have solid experience with NetApp, NAS, and NFS server environments?
  • Do you have expertise in deployment tools (scripts, Kickstart, RPM, Ansible, Terraform, etc.)?
  • Do you have good knowledge of NTP, TCP/IP networks, routing protocols, VLAN, and QoS?
  • Are you familiar with the main standards and regulatory frameworks for information system security (IM900/901, IGI 1300)?
  • Do you have an additional asset if you master virtualization systems (VMware ESXi, vSphere), NAS, NFS environments, and Active Directory architectures, as well as their administration?
